I am a parent, and because I teach my children from a young age how to behave in public, I don't need to use a leash. If someone cannot teach their children to behave, or watch them, then they shouldn't be parents. If someone has too many kids to look after, they should bring another adult to help them, or leave the unruly children with a sitter. I would rather scold my child for misbehaving in public (which should be done) than look like I am lazy and too stupid to pay attention to my child. I don't know why anyone would rather look like a jerk than correct their childrens horrid outbursts.

that is just wrong, the leash idea is for lazy parents, who dont want PCS at home and they play to be responsable adults, if you dont have time or brain to raise a kid, GET A CONDOM!

The woman in the video is mental. The leash can be used effectively so your child can walk by themself and still be safe from wandering off or heaven forbid, being kidnapped. It should not be used to drag your child. At that point the woman in the video should have taken the child by the hand or picked them up.

First, you have to have a child that needs to be leashed to understand. My youngest is so out of control, and I don't know why, her sister is an angel and we did nothing different rasing them. We'll go into a store, and if they don't have carts, the first thing she does is break my grip and run and hide. She does it to be defiant and it drives me nuts! If we go anyplace where there are a lot of people I'm petrified that I'll lose her. She actually got us kicked out of a canival last week! Who gets kicked out of a canival!? I'm debating calling Nanny 911. I really am. lose kicked canival week kicked canival debating calling nanny 911

(edited to say I wasn't able to see the video)

Dragging? In what country is that acceptable? That's horrible! Meanwhile there are people in this world that would give their right eye for a child of their own! She should be drug behind a truck!

We don't know the circumstances here. If child has problems it may be her only way to control him; but to drag him like that across the store like luggage ... ?

I would rather have my kid on a leash so I don't lose them, then let them run wild and freak out when I can't find them. I wouldn't use ones that goes anywhere near the throat.

Every parent has right to raise their kids the way they prefer and whats best for them. Each child is different if some kids are raised without a leash then its because they never needed one. One day some of you will be mothers and you will realise how its like to have children.

It might teach a bad kid not to run away randomly and to stay close when out in public places. But at the same time, it's really weird-looking and probably uncomfortable.

If a child is quite small, I think they're better off in a pram, but often the toddlers won't say in them, and their parents let them have their way. I've seen small children being held by the hand where it looked like their arms were nearly being pulled out of the socket because the child couldn't keep up with the adult or was too small to be walking like that in a crowded place. In view of that, I think the harnesses are a better option than an early rotator cuff injury.

So the leash is the main culprit. We raised 3 kids, dragged them around on the floor playing around, so we degraded them?

putting a leash on your child is like treating them as if they are nothing more then pets,
in my opinion i think its wrong and i will never do so

And that's fine. Also, you must not have children, trust me, I share the majority of ok's from parents. We have been there all have done that. But never! have we humiliated or degraded our kids. Try going to the grocery store with 3 year old twins and a baby, pushing a grocery cart and shopping. Checking out, loading up the food into your car, etc etc. What that woman did was NOT! degrading, society is so quick to call everything child abuse, parents loose their God given right to raise their children, thanks to people like you that have not walked in their shoes. If you feel so passionate about this matter, maybe you should become a child advocate and help those in REAL need.

my family members have raised thier children quite well without a leash. if you feel that you need it so bad well then go ahead and use it! i dont really give a shit as to what you do or how you raise your children. i dont call it child abuse but i still think its degrading. i will have children when i am mentally and physically ready! of course i am not going to have a child at my age right now. still that women was DRAGGING her child. NOT cool.
you live your life and i live mine. i am not saying that all parents who use it are bad parents. but i still wouldnt use it.
