Do you think its fair when parents read their child's diary and then ground them for what's written in it?

- Cantus_bird 2012/06/18 15:21:28 (edited)UndecidedParents should never, ever read a childs private journal or diary without their permission. That being said, if a dangerous situation has occurred in the child's life and the parent needs more understanding as to what occurred or what has happened so that a resolution can be found then is the time to peruse the journal.reply
- Heavy 2012/06/17 22:09:13YesDon't write it down if you don't want others to read it. Even if it is a diary, you can't be naive enough to think no one will ever read it.reply

- TasselLady 2012/06/17 21:14:21UndecidedI really don't know what to say with this one. I had a diary when I was younger. As far as I know my parents never read it. I'd never have one now. But it's parent's job to know what is going on with their kids. Sometimes what's written might be serious, like maybe thought of suicide or something like that.reply
- BubblyBlonde 2012/06/17 21:08:10NoIt's an invasion of privacy. I wouldn't trust my parents with anything if they did that to me.reply
