Do You Think It’s Crazy to Throw Your Dog a Big Birthday Party?

Catch My Party 2012/08/20 16:00:00
No, it’s not crazy. A dog is a true member of the family. Why not celebrate his or her milestones?
Yes, your dog doesn’t know the difference. It’s a total waste of time and money.

I’ve never thrown my dog a birthday party, but I’ve been to some very fun dog parties. I think any excuse to throw a party is a good excuse, and if your dog gets some extra treats out of it, I say everybody wins. Just don’t make your dog wear that silly party hat for the whole party! :) Check out some adorable dog parties people have thrown.

If it's to get people together then it's all right but I know some stupid people who actually think the dog would appreciate it.

I would throw a birthday party for my toaster if it meant cake and ice-cream.

Is it crazy? Yes. Yes, it is.

Dog parties are just another shining example of people that have more money than sense.

Why not? People spend money on their hair, perfume, etc and that is technically a waste of money too. I love my dog. There are some people that go a little to crazy, even by a human birthday standard.

We had a crazy aunt and uncle that went through the trouble of doing that and dressed up the dog in a party hat, etc. I guess that kind of made up for the children they never had.

Putting party hats on dogs is uncomfortable for them. The dog does not understand what you are doing. It is very mean. The whole idea of dog parties makes no sense.

I love my babies or doggies bushels and more. . . and they truely seem to know what Christmas wrap and gifts are all about . . . BUT they get rawhide treats nearly every time we shop so they get treats and spoiled every day of the year. I might get them something on their special day but I would NOT throw a party for them. Not everyone is that dog crazy YET.

Don't get me wrong. My dogs are really, really spoiled and I do give them a special dinner on their birthdays and my family of 3 has been known to even sing Happy Birthday but I would not throw them an actual party. They've told me that they prefer the smaller, quainter celebration! LOL

Simple, if you don't like them, don't do it, but don't make fun of those that do. Many animals are part of the family and are loved.

I don't do it with extravagant gifts and parties. We go to the lake and watch the dogs lose their minds until they drop. That's about all the celebration American Bulldogs can handle. Then it's back to the never ending investigation they do around the house.
