Do You Think It’s Crazy to Throw Your Dog a Big Birthday Party?

Catch My Party 2012/08/20 16:00:00
No, it’s not crazy. A dog is a true member of the family. Why not celebrate his or her milestones?
Yes, your dog doesn’t know the difference. It’s a total waste of time and money.
You!

I’ve never thrown my dog a birthday party, but I’ve been to some very fun dog parties. I think any excuse to throw a party is a good excuse, and if your dog gets some extra treats out of it, I say everybody wins. Just don’t make your dog wear that silly party hat for the whole party! :) Check out some adorable dog parties people have thrown.

Yes-- I would do that for my dog! He is a member of my family, and more loyal than most humans that I know. He deserves the same treatment as my children! Dogs are special!!

Just be sure that President Obama is not invited to the party. He may want to take your dog home for dinner. Literally!

I see no issue with it especially if its just done in fun and its a small little party with your immediate family and you just give em a nice bone or something lol a BIG party might be a bit much though

No my dog comes family first dog second he when we were out camping my dog stepped up to a black bear the black bear ran away I don't know about u but that takes guts and he attacked a burgler trying to steal from us he didn't kill him but he messed him up real good and when I first got him ppl told me that that rottweiler was going to attack me one day, he's a teddy bear I stepped on his tail and he just whimpered, found him on the streets right in front of my house he was scrawny limping and flies were just flying around him and he laid down knowing he was going to die so I ran picked him up gave him my chicken leg I was taking to work with me gave him some milk and took him to the vet they said he doesn't have rabies but he's sad and I looked in his eyes and that's when I took him inside as a pet

I don't blame people who have pets, but I feel the time and money spent on pets would be better invested in other humans.

If you ever had/needed a service dog, you'd know they're more than just pets and deserve anything and everything you can give them. They're intelligent and loving. Right there beats most humans I've met.

Indeed! I'd take my dog over most of the human race that is alive today, except for family & friends. They are the TRUE loyal ones! Ever see the trashy people there are out there in this world today?

How other people spend their money is no concern of mine. But I wouldn't choose to spend my hard earned money on a birthday party for my dog-as much as I love her. To me it seems like a waste of money and I work too hard for my money to waste it.

I'm sorry you feel that way about people. What I said in my answer was that "I wouldn't spend MY money on it. It's not up to me to judge what other people spend their money on. But I personally wouldn't spend my hard earned money on a party for my dog. I give my dog love-something money can't buy.

It is not a matter of hating animals, it is a matter of understanding that they are animals, not people. They don't grasp the concept of party, and don't generally enjoy it. So, having a lavish party for "them" is somewhat of a fib. It is to make adults feel better.

We have 2 cats. They are pets, they get food, water, vet care, beds and excellent treatment, but NOT parties, or Christmas presents (paper wads to play with are more fun for them).

There is a point at which it is ridiculous, but by all means, DO THAT if you wish.

Because we won't spend our money on a party for a dog doesn't make us animal haters. I love my dog and I love animals but a party is not where I CHOOSE to spend MY MONEY.
