Do you think it's appropriate to name-call someone when they give an opinion?

Personally my answer is no, to me it's just being closed minded. I wish to hear the rest of your opinions.

    It depends on the situation.
Sometimes, the anonymity of people should be respected.

It's like their trying to make you agree with their opinion. Their just stating what they think. Isn't that what this site is about anyways, giving your opinion.

People should have the maturity and listen and respond to others opinions in a civilized way.

if the person is outright being :
    a) a racist
    b) a bitch
    c) a sexist
    d) an arse
    e) an ignorant person in general
then yes i find it appropriate to just nonchalantly slide those names or a more appropriate name in to allow them to change their behavior next time.

Do you think it to be easier to win an argument if you do not name call?

It depends; among a group of friends, for instance, most will say openly their opinion and want their friends to know what they think. Also in school classes, the teacher will call the pupils by their name and let them express their opinion. With big groups or people you do not know, anonymity must be, of course, respected.
