Humans will be extinct by then - and their extinction will come by their own hands. Though there might be some mutant human species roaming around but they will have reverted back to being scavengers.

But they said there will be an 'aging curing' type thing 10-15 years from now.

Maybe the rich will be able to afford eternal youth (like in certain bad sci-fi movies). Everyone? Far from it.

no, i mean, people have been dying at younger ages, i mean you get a certificate for reachiing 100, soon it's gonna be like 50 and if scientists can do something to make us immortal then are they gonna do it to every person in the world??

That would be the worst thing to do. Never mind the fact that our minds can't handle that.

Gods forbid. Where would we put everyone if they never died? The only way I see immortality for everyone as a good idea is if we've already started colonizing other planets.

We will never truly be immortal. Either really difficult to kill, have really long life spans, or both.

Only a starry eyed kid that could be sucked in by a catchy phrase like ''yes we can'' would come up with such crap.
On the off chance that I'm wrong, say good bye to SS and Medicare.

Well he's optimistic and she's...how old? Anyway, yeah VERY optimistic, we'll be lucky to see enough technology to replace the human body entirely by 2160 let alone 2045. I've done my own studies on this and I was being optimistic then. It's true that there's been a rapid growth in technology, however the growth that we would need to see would be more than $4,000,000,000,000,000 invested in it world wide.

There's also the limitation of the human brain, we don't know nearly enough about it. We know for a fact that we don't know enough about it to be able to remove and replace parts. (We've barely got a short term solution to a short term memory problem). Let alone transferring an unidentified personality out. It's nice to dream though.

The most promising research comes from Aubrey De Gray that has shown some progress in extending life. Not in humans yet, but they're working up to that. That research is proving rather useful in other means never mind immortality so it's not entirely a dead end.

Humans, I believe, are spiritual beings and as such, we are immortal, now and forever. However, I think your question has to do with the human body and not the spiritual being 'housed' in that body. It is conceivable that with modern-day war, that human bodies will be wiped off the planet. But aside from that possibility - having a human body endure forever is just not the natural progression of things. It is certainly conceivable that at some point in the future, there will be some scientific endeavor that will result in preserving the human body forever. However, I don't think it will happen as soon as 2045.

I think our souls are immortal, but never our bodies. If we lived forever, the world would be overpopulated, there would be restrictions on having children. Maybe after a while there would be no children or babies, and everyone would be the same age, and all have fitted parts and machinery and upgrades etc to all look the same, act the same, think the same, live the same life... One thing would lead to another. I think everyone would just end up killing themselves anyway.
