many people claim that they are christians, but never did anything right..especially politicians...frankly speaking i have no right to judge everyone's faith, but i hate people doing evil things...especially when everyone's right is compromised...sorry for what i'm going to say to non-christians...they are the worst ever!!!!...and so annoying!!!....

To start with I didn't attack anyone, I only asked a question of what others thought. Next there is nothing hate filled about the question. And lastly even if I actually did wrongly make a hate filled attack on christians that certainly does not mean I am a compassionate liberal.
BTW- I am sure I am hypocritical about something as everyone is.
As for christians being hypocritical well some of them say love thy neighbor then turn around and spew hate at those who disagree with them.

A lot are, actually. :/ Any normal person is capable of hypocrisy, it's only when it's most of the time or when they're huge hypocrites that it isn't good. But unless you always practice what you preach, you're going to be a hypocrite at one time or another.

Many people think just because they believe in God they are Christians.
A true Christian is not perfect, but believes in Jesus and strives to be like Him...a true Christian is forgiven, and works hard daily to stay grounded in the Word of God and to walk the talk. As Mahatma Ghandi said, re: Christians, I don't care for their people, but I like their God.
The best AND worst example of a Christian can be a Christian.

To try and answer this question properly I believe you have to look at it from the viewpoint of an outsider. I am an outsider. So definitely, SOME Christians ARE hypocrites. Many people claim to be a Christian yet they lead a secular lifestyle, seldom if ever going to church. Many people, Christian and layman alike, have no concept of exactly what it means to be a Christian. Some people believe that just because they believe in God they are Christians, and many believe that just because they go to church they are Christians. I am equating here the beliefe that one will go to Heaven when he dies as being the definition of what a Christian is because that's what all Christians believe, but there is more to it than that. A CHRISTIAN IS one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God, and that Jesus died and was resurrected as atonement for the sins of all mankind. One must have absolute faith that Jesus is their savior. The reward for believing in Jesus as personal savior is life after death, life in heaven, worshiping God for eternity. That and only that is what a Christian is, yet many Christians, even those who go to church regularly do not know that. To me God seems to be a jealous God, one who wants his creations to be forever indebted to him for their life.

Further evidence of Christian hypocrisy is the existence of all the different denominations of Protestantism, each denomination teaching that theirs is the only true interpretation of the Bible and therefore the only way to get to Heaven is to believe in their particular brand of the Bible. To me, the fact that members of each particular Christian denomination believing that all the members of all the other Christian denominations are going to Hell is hypocritical.

Still more religious hypocrisy is the existence of all the various other faiths in the world, each believing that their faith, their God is the ONE and ONLY God.

That's all I have to say. I currently am an atheist, but I have been there and done that as regards to being a Christian. I called my self a Baptist, was saved, baptized, and believed that once saved, always saved. I was a hypocrite too. Isn't that a silly notion, a greedy self fulfilling belief, sort of a universal get-out-of-jail-free pass.

A few are, but it's better to have a moral group that's slightly hypocritical than an immoral group that is absolute.

"Hypocritical Christians" are those who abuse Christianity to expand their personal wealth and success but don't really believe in Christianity (like Obama).

True Christians that love the Lord try to walk in a way that is pleasing to Him and will lead others to Him, However, we are ALL SINNERS IN NEED OF A SAVIOR! So yes, we do sin and we do fall but we know where to look for help up.

You say that but what about the Westboro Baptist Church. They're praying to God about soldiers who died in the war. They are picketing their funerals all because the military allows homosexuals to sign up. Doesn't the bible say "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." and they sit there and judge homosexuals in the military. In fact a lot of Christians I have talked to also judge homosexuals.

But they meet the criteria to be Christians! You know; acknowledging Christ as their Lord and Savior, etc. Perhaps they interpret the bible differently than you do. I admit they're a waste of life but there are people that don't profess to be Christian that are equally screwed up, and much worse.

That's true to an extent. Many atheists here are quite militant. I've found to be true with the Christians too. The militant Atheists tend to pick on the Christians here since they set themselves up as fair game by having no sense of humor; especially about their religion.

Haha. Love the cartoon :-) As I say, I know that the majority of atheists aren't like the ones here. My family are all atheist as are most of my friends and they are nothing like the pricks that use this site. I'm not anti any religion or anti-atheist. I'm anti-extremes in any group, religious or otherwise. Calling a person a stupid moron because one doesn't agree with that person's beliefs is ridiculous. I've learnt that no one seems to want to have a civilised discussion on SH. They just want to be right about everything.

There's a lot of cool folks here, the trick is finding them. I'm against ALL organized religions as they're political entities and have nothing to do with God. My Cynthia is a devout Christian and that's fine. She has a personal relationship with God and walks the walk Jesus suggested in his guide for a good life.

As to being right; I'm always right. I thought I was wrong once but I was wrong.
