they should be illegal there pretty much a breathing ground for pedophillies also i think it's a form of child abuse there forcing these girls to perform and look like litte sults

These pagents are disgusting and so are the parents who subject their children to them. Have you see these kids and parents on TV. How embarrassing!

The whole thing sickens me (and my daughter and now granddaughters are absolutely beautiful, but we don't sell them out to feed our egos). Putting children out on display just gives the chimos (child molesters) easier access.

I think it is child abuse! Little girls should not be turned into sexual objects!! It is maddening that these parents are trying to fulfill their unmet needs and these kids should be taken away from them before something bed happens to them. Let kids do kids stuff. Let them do that later in life if they choose to. These mothers (and fathers) but mostly mothers need some psychiatric help.

i know its strange but if some other things are band for under 16 then dont you think this should be aswell ? i mean everyone here has made a fair point and all the people here agree its just not right ..and too any mother who would allow a 5 year old go on stage in small skirts/dresses .fake tan,fake nails ect should not be allowed to be mothers

I don't agree with the way the parent dress their young daughters. I think it can be done with the girl looking natural.

There is only one beautiful thing about children and it can't be demonstrated on a beauty pageant.

This beauty is the innocence of the child, something makeup, bikinis, false smiles and pushy parents fail dismally to mimic.

The objectification of young children is always bad. I especially hate the overly artificial glitz pageants. Think of all of the better activities a girl can participate in! She could be playing outside, attending science camp, talking with friends or reading, but instead she's prancing around on stage in tutus and covering herself with makeup. Whether the child likes it or not, she is being sent the message that her appearance is more important than her personality. She becomes a little robot with a cheesy grin, trophies in her bedroom and an empty mind.

i was watching a program about this thats why i was thinking bout it and just before the little ones go on stage they start crying and there mums are getting angry because they have just ruined the makeup they have just spent hours on ?! if my daughter didnt want to go on the last thing i woould worry about is the makeup

I dont think its right at all. Kids shouldent have to do this its almost like there making there kids older whores. Its crazy... For the little boys its fine as long as thats what they want to do.
