I certainly can see points on both sides for it and against it. True a lot of good like catching child molesters could come out of it. However I am not sure that it would be a proper method for the schools because of privacy issues and the children may feel uncomfortable knowing they are being video taped. Another factor is the fact that some perverted people may even make copies of the tapes to watch at home. That would definitely be a major violation of privacy.

That is a good point, my concerns would be what you mentioned, too. Pervs getting their hands on it. I am sure there would also be some costs, in monitoring the video.

My response to the other stuff you mention is this.

Children tend to behave better when knowing they are "being watched" , BY:Mom/Dad like when they pop in the class to sit in and monitor their child. Also they know that certain behavior will be appropriate and if caught, there is solid evidence of it. Not just there typical excuse, "the teacher hates me, she is lying, exaggerating, mom!"
After a parent hears," Jim, Bill and Joe were caught fighting/bullying, while the teacher left the room or turn her back."
Also parents would have to play a BIG role in the monitoring of their children. Active involvement, in the regulations and enforcement of the recording. Have that added into the PTO/PTA meetings. As an informative tool when dealing with teachers behavior, children's behavior, visitors and employee behaviors as well. Its a good way to see how your child is learning and methods used that work and ones that don't.

I like the Real Time video that some Day Cares have. Where the parent can check in real time on their kids via computer. This can also catch the in the acts occurrences, stop it while its happening, and have solid evidence for conviction.

Thats why i say i can see points on both sides of this issue I wouldn't object to it but just uncertain it would be a good idea.

This man is disgusting. . . I think cameras would help, but it wouldn't prevent abuse from happening.

No doubt not only for this extreme but for judging a teachers actual ability at their job!

You have probably seen this. But this woman is obviously molesting the students minds for her own agenda!
