at high school and primary school i got called 'retarded' and other names like it coz i am disabled.. comments like that stay with you forever... but i told them where to go and commented on their flaws, which they deserved! nasty f**ks!

As I see it you can do one of two things when you're called a name; whine and cry about it, or consider the source. The latter is the more mature thing to do. Some on here have mentioned how childish it is to call names. It's equally childish to moan and wail about it.

Depends on if they are a retard or not It is the sort of remark that can be used among friends about each other. Otherwise in most cases probably not. One time I had to risk my life to get a little mentally challenged kid out of the top of a tree he had decided to climb. And as I had him slung over my shoulder on the way down the thought definitely entered my mind. Never the less I got him down in one piece.

that should not be used to 'label' anyone at all ..

(I've heard some pretty hate-full remarks out of .. ugh .. adults when they are pre-judging others with disabilities .. there's no excuse for them to do so other than that they are hate-filled).
