If a service came along that did not keep changing how it works, constantly adding more sureptious data mining, didn't try to steal rights to people's personal pictures and other posts, etc., they would take off like a rocket.

As it is, Facebook has become a big company and so will become less flexible and responsive to the market. It has also taken the plunge onto the stock market which means it can no longer be merely a good service with predictable income, but will have to constantly increase profits or the investors will drop it like a hot potato. As such they will be increasing advertising and the data they collect and sell, until they become so obnoxious that customers drop them and they fail that way.

MySpace used to be the big kid on the block and then Facebook took the title. Eventually Facebook will fall to another site.

facebook has went above and beyond what anyone would have expected. The only thing that Facebook could improve upon is hash tagging. There's nothing else you can do through a social network. Facebook has topped MySpace and will forever exceed Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. there's nothing that could be better than Facebook. Congrats Mark Zuckerberg (although your wife is pretty ugly)

Everyone already tries to replace it but the feed has people hooked. It's convenient and doesn't merge everything together like google plus. It will be replaced some day but not real soon. FB also doesn't make you feel like your at a dead end like google plus (now what?) or bombarded with graphics like myspace did (where is the off button?).

It seems to me that Facebook started out as a place for young people to interact and express their creativity. Over the years it has been invaded by everyone from grandma to an endless list of advertisers and has lost its unique edge. I think it wil continue forward for a long time but in a different mode and it's original audience will move elsewhere.

I voted no because the whole concept of Facebook is beginning to age and not gracefully. What would end up replacing it would merely be a rehash of the original so why bother?

Facebook might not disappear but eventually it's popularity will become waning especially if a better social network with the right premise, format, and structure comes along. Anything technology based has to eventually deal with the dillema of balance. Change too much and most people will either completely rebel (go in reverse of where you are going), just give up on you, or you'll become a niche in your industry. Change too little and you'll be left behind and you risk being forgotten. You have to know what to change, how to do it right (change for the sake of change or the wrong motivations), all without forgetting the basics and keep some tradition and ties to the past. Facebook has lots of complaints on changing too much and it getting worse to use and not better. Don't fix what isn't broke, don't tweak something too much or just to tweak it, and if you do fix something that needs fixed make it better than it was before and not worse.

Most likely. I don't use it, but I've heard quite a few complaints about FB. That tells me that 'the door is open' for a better platform to take over.

Things change. MySpace was once the king of social networking sites. It's been eclipsed by Facebook. Facebook's star in on the horizon at the moment, but that doesn't mean another won't take it's place. Wait for it. It will happen.

The Park lost out to Myspace, Myspace to Facebook, Facebook perhaps to Tagged or Sodahead...??? All depends on the structure
