Yes, cute aggression is real -- and yes, it's dangerous. Well, scratch that last part. But it is weird! New research finds that when people are presented with universally "cute" things -- like puppies or babies -- feeling a sense of aggression is actually quite normal. But, it's not bad aggression. It's cute aggression! If you ever wanted to pinch an adorable baby's cheeks or passionately squeeze a cute puppy, you probably have cute aggression.

In the study, which took place at the annual meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, researchers found that people looking at pictures of "cute" things popped more bubbles on a sheet of bubble wrap than did people viewing neutral, or even funny, pictures. Do you think you suffer from "cute aggression"?

It's insane how hard I want to squeeze my dogs and slobber all over them!
They are sooooo sweet and sooooo beautiful and sooooo perfect and do such cute things!

I squeeze them a little too hard sometimes.......I also think my dog is cute expecially when he growls at me so I provoke him and he growl more I feel like a nutcase a psycho.......

I'd rather gently pet the puppy or just hold it. I don't want to Smush it. But I do say stuff like that once in a great while. Sometimes I'll be playing with my dog and be like "I love you kasei! I'm gonna smush you!" But I don't really. I just gently pick him up and pet him. Hmmm... Maybe I DO have cute aggression...

actually i suffer from real cute aggression - i want to destroy the baby or the puppy, and I want it to die for being so cute and happy - it is something that I have this agrression because I have been hurt by so much abuse and shouting and manipultion...

that's really what cute aggression means, and not the cute love that you're talking about!

I have it too and it is not a beautiful thing. The thing is cute and I overeact in cruel ways that I feel horrible about. The dog growls at me a rush goes thriugh me I wave my hand and provoke him he growls more and more I think so cute.......... It feels so psychotic and nuts. It feels horrible like a drug and seeing these cute litle happy fluffballs sets me on the edge and I want to. Squeeze and squeeze and squeeze. There is no love in that it is selfishness. I'm glad they found a name for it.........I felt so nuts. It was my dark secret
