Well, it depends on what you call spoiled. If putting clothes on them and giving them a mini dog mansion, then no. If letting them sleep inside the house by your bed, spending hundreds of dollars on their health protection and sometimes feeding them human food, then yes. Why not? A dog's life is short. Might as well let them live it happy.

Yep...all five dogs. They are just like little kids and that's how I treat them. But they still know I'm boss. They all know that when I go to town they are going to get 'something special' when I get home. OMG the excitment. Just like Christmas morning when we all believed in santa claus. They bring me so much joy.

Yes, my cat knows that, for the most part, his butt will never get in trouble for coming up and just demanding attention, no matter what I'm doing.

depends we take her for rides and walks and play with her constantly, and give her lots of love and attention, but thats what dogs need. our kids are grown no grandkids yet to spoil so its gotta be the dog. shes the greatest dog ever and very smart half pit bull and boxer.

Yes and No. I don't have a pet. But, I've spoiled my friend's dog. . . I SWORE that I would NEVER keep a dog in my house. Then a good friend bought a cute little toy poodle mix and begged me to doggy sit since she works long hours and travels. I reluctantly agreed. So I've been doggy sitting in MY house quite frequently for the past four years, and I LOVE that little doggy. She often has this little adorble look on her face as if to say "I Love you too". Lol! She is sooooooooo darn cute and adorable. The owner has accused me of spoiling her dog because she only eats table food-my fault . . . she will NOT sit in the passenger seat, she forces her way in the lap of the driver-my fault . . . and when I keep her I sleep in the den, so she sleeps on the couch with me and not in her doggy bed-my fault . . .Well at-least she's the prettiest little spoiled doggy in town because I love to shop for her and dress her up too! Lol!!!

They are well taken care of but not spoiled. They have food, water and attention. I do not believe in humanizing animals and I really do not think animals want to be humanized anyway.

Look at that spoiled dog. All anorexic and homeless. Who does he think he is!? >:O
  • MissJo Omni 2011/11/21 05:16:57

I wouldn't call that dog anorexic, that is a mental disorder associated with the fear of gaining weight. That dog, however, probably had owners that withheld food and abused him. Not every animal who is starving is anorexic, the better term would be emaciated.

Anorexic isn't necessarily a mental disorder.

    Oxford Dictionary -
Anorexia: "relating to, characterized by, or suffering from anorexia.
    extremely thin."

No, dogs aren't born spoiled and that's an awfully ignorant comment. There are dogs that are born on the streets and have to live a rough life, always in danger of wild animals, poisons, cruel people, and cars. There are also dogs that get born into abusive households, they certainly don't live a spoiled life. Pit bulls are among the most common, they can be born into a life of brutal fighting and if the dog does not live up to the standards of the his owners will be quickly killed. I've heard stories of a dog fighter getting his friend to hold his female dog down that wasn't winning enough so he could run over her head with his vehicle.

I even had the pleasure of meeting one of these dogs. She was emaciated and covered in healing wounds... but since she was so young and surrounded by caring people that would give her love and affection she was incredibly sweet and just wanted to to be petted.

Not all dogs are so lucky. I've also, unfortunately, run into dogs that were abused as puppies and were never quite the same. They do not trust new people, I met a mastiff like this, he was hit as a puppy. One of the first things he did after he warmed up to me was give me a strict and well-headed warning, he put his muzzle against my hand and began to bark, close enough to where I could ...

One of the first things he did after he warmed up to me was give me a strict and well-headed warning, he put his muzzle against my hand and began to bark, close enough to where I could feel his teeth graze my hand... and he was a 175 lb young adult when he did this. He never bit me, and tried laying on top of me (which is painful, I might add) later on, but I made show to show him a lot of kindness and respect as well.

There are many other stories... but one shouldn't assume that dogs are born spoiled. Some dogs are born into rough lives and deserve to be spoiled, and sometimes they are... but unfortunately, not always.

Haha spoiled isn't even the word to describe them. My pets live better lives than some people! They get whatever they want, when they want it, but it's worth it because they're so freaking adorable!
Edit: I don't spoil them in the sense that I dress them up in clothes and let them have bad manners. They get rewarded with lots of toys and treats, as long as they behave. (:

They are a great breed with adults but seem to dislike anyone smaller then them . Carl hates kids . My friend has one to and has the same problem .
They are just not a dog that likes to be poked and pulled on .
He never attacks kids he just walks away from them .
