Do you spank your kids when there being bad?

I was never hit once in my life by my parents, and I would never dare hit my children (when I have them,) for any reason. Many parents say it's to control their children, but is that really the type of parent you want to be? The one that hit their children to smack sense into them or to keep them in line? Such methods remind me of tyranny and honestly do not make a better person, it only influences their opinion on things. Should my parents hit me, even now, I would have probably accused them of abuse, since even now I see it as no type of discipline. You can be a good parent by using your words and giving your trust. You don't need to raise a hand at your child to make them a good person. Violence, even as innocent as this, is never the answer to anything.

I did! Of course I used other methods too, but, I never let her get the upper hand. When you do, you loose control of your child. She's an adult now and a good daughter and mother too. She sings my praises to others now, saying I'm glad my mom did what she had to do to keep me in line. I am very proud of her.

I had more effect when I took things away that brought great joy.

I said no only because I don't have any kids, if I become a parent they will get it when they misbehave

I don't have any kids but I will if they misbehave. Stupid people might try to make it considered as child abuse though. It's discipline, not abuse.

I have never spanked my kids, there have been many times where I probably should of but that is something I just could never bring myself to do.
