Tried them for a year back in high school. Didn't much care for it so I just stopped. It wasn't hard at all. People who complain about it being hard have no willpower.

Yes I do smoke and I am addicted also. I started back in April due to pressure from my (ex) boyfriend and his friends. They offered me cigarrettes and stupidly I gave into them so I didn't feel the odd one out.
If I had the choice I think I wouldn't to be honest because smoking has actually helped me through some shit, it really is stress releiver even though that is such a cliché excuse.
Maybe Less nicotine would help but that may make a smoker like myself crave the nicotine even more and may make them want to smoke more. Got to look at both sides there.
I might stop smoking if someone in my familky got really ill because of it, that would shock me really. I might also stop if my current boyfriend stops because I tend to smoke more if I'm with him.
    I would tell others if they are thinking about smoking;
"Is it really the right time for you to quit? If you are fully happy with life and there are no stresses left then sure go for it and I hope you succeed, but if you stop smoking when your stressed, the effects wont be great, you will be craving them even more and your emotions will go haywire. So think carefully about it and chose what is best in your current situation."

    1. No I am not thinking about trying to smoke. If I did I would be the biggest hypocrite in the world
    2. Before people knew it was life threatening they thought it was cool. Now maybe because it makes you feel joy when you smoke (some kind of chemical) and because they give out free smoking samples on collage campuses and when they try it they don't even think about becoming addicted
    3. No ever since my dad stopped smoking when ever I smell it or breath it in I start to cough
    4. Absolutely not, forget about the economy you wont make any money when most of america is dead
    5. Yes besides my health teacher my grandmother use to be a nurse but mostly in school

First of all, I want to say how much I support people who do smoke and are trying to quit. It's hard to end the road of any kind of addiction and stopping smoking is harder than any other drug to quit. I'm not a smoker but I know this because I am an educated consumer and a real friend to former smokers. #1 No, I am not considering to begin to smoke. #2 I think people start smoking for a few reasons. First, if you are young you think it's cool, rebellious and a way to say you can do what you want to do. If you are older, you are probably a former smoker who let the power of the addiction get you back to smoking. It's a lifelong struggle. #3 When I was younger, I could only stand to be near smokers if I was drinking and out with friends in an outside event. Usually, the smell of smoke makes me sick to my stomach and the older I get, the more it upsets my system if I smell it around me. #4 Although for the health implications I'd like to, no one will ever be able to ban the manufacture of cigarettes. It's a huge industry and a lot of people make money from it, so it will never happen. #5 Ofcourse, I have. I think I already answered this question when I said that I am educated consumer and a compassionate human being which is why I support all of my friends whether they are smokers or not but guess what I have to say? Please stop smoking and do it for yourself and no one else. Do it so that you can live a long and happy life! That's what I told Clarence Thomas, and he did!

    For smokers:
1b. What made you want to smoke?
My mother physically and mentally abused me and I saw someone smoking and I was at a point where I didn't care.....being down causes you to do things you wouldn't normally do.
2b. If you had the choice now, would you quit?
    Yeah.
3b. Do you think less nicotine help you stop smoking?
    Probably.
4b. What else do you think would help you stop to smoking?
Support from friends. Like doing it for them.
5b. What would you tell others who are thinking about smoking?
Don't start...just don't I used to always think don't start. I always thought I'd never have one and I was wrong...... I hate myself and I broke a promise to myself. I disappointed a lot of people too. Now I can't stop. The longest I can go before wanting one is a few days. It was a week. It gets worse and worse. I went from a social smoker to a chain smoker. I'm even so addicted that I had bronchitis and still had some. It's also a waste of money. I could have saved hundreds of dollars by now and I've only been doing it for a year......sad and true..... I was stupid and will admit it.

been maybe 8 years now since I had a puff..
best decision I ever made...only took my kids repeatedly saying "I don't want you to die" for about a year to get me to do it.

Do what you want but Its just sooooo bad...nothing personal to any of you----I just don't want my tax dollars to pay for your emphysema treatment after Obama passes/pushes this socialized health care crud either... my best friend is only 41 and just got diagnosed with it... he still wont quit and he has a 6 year old little girl... sad.sad.sad. if he keeps it up he'll be lucky to see her graduate from elementary school...

plus, you all don't realize it, cause I didn't till I quit --but you and your clothes smell like a wet ashtray.... yummmmm......it is honestly a very very disgusting, very bad habit....

I still could go for a nice cigar every now and again/ and have had a few since I quit the cigs.

Not trying to start an argument here but you still smoke then. Tobacco is tobacco regardless of how it's ingested. One a year and it qualifies as smoking. While I smoked cigarettes for way too many years and know how bad they smell, cigars are actually worse for stinking up your clothing, hair, and everything around you. Pipes are almost as bad as cigars.

The old line..."There's no vert like a convert"...definitely applies to me at this point in time. lol

I said "could go" for a nice cigar... not that I do...

I wont refuse to smoke it if there is a birth (the traditional handing out of a cigar still happens) of a child from a friend or special some special occasion- like my buddy got his first deer hunting... and he shared cigars from that a couple years back.... ..im definitely not a smoker anymore.... I have had a few over the 8 years since I quit.. but I would never dare smoke another cig
