If I had the choice I think I wouldn't to be honest because smoking has actually helped me through some shit, it really is stress releiver even though that is such a cliché excuse.
Maybe Less nicotine would help but that may make a smoker like myself crave the nicotine even more and may make them want to smoke more. Got to look at both sides there.
I might stop smoking if someone in my familky got really ill because of it, that would shock me really. I might also stop if my current boyfriend stops because I tend to smoke more if I'm with him.
I would tell others if they are thinking about smoking;
"Is it really the right time for you to quit? If you are fully happy with life and there are no stresses left then sure go for it and I hope you succeed, but if you stop smoking when your stressed, the effects wont be great, you will be craving them even more and your emotions will go haywire. So think carefully about it and chose what is best in your current situation."
Thanks for your response.
2. Before people knew it was life threatening they thought it was cool. Now maybe because it makes you feel joy when you smoke (some kind of chemical) and because they give out free smoking samples on collage campuses and when they try it they don't even think about becoming addicted
3. No ever since my dad stopped smoking when ever I smell it or breath it in I start to cough
4. Absolutely not, forget about the economy you wont make any money when most of america is dead
5. Yes besides my health teacher my grandmother use to be a nurse but mostly in school
I didn't know they hand out free samples on college campuses.
1b. What made you want to smoke?
My mother physically and mentally abused me and I saw someone smoking and I was at a point where I didn't care.....being down causes you to do things you wouldn't normally do.
2b. If you had the choice now, would you quit?
Yeah.
3b. Do you think less nicotine help you stop smoking?
Probably.
4b. What else do you think would help you stop to smoking?
Support from friends. Like doing it for them.
5b. What would you tell others who are thinking about smoking?
Don't start...just don't I used to always think don't start. I always thought I'd never have one and I was wrong...... I hate myself and I broke a promise to myself. I disappointed a lot of people too. Now I can't stop. The longest I can go before wanting one is a few days. It was a week. It gets worse and worse. I went from a social smoker to a chain smoker. I'm even so addicted that I had bronchitis and still had some. It's also a waste of money. I could have saved hundreds of dollars by now and I've only been doing it for a year......sad and true..... I was stupid and will admit it.
2a. I think people choose to smoke because they either have low self - esteem or they think it will make there life better.....news flash.. IT WONT!
3a. No i can't actually. I can't stand it. It makes me feel sick.
4a. what? well, i don't think cigerettes should be made in fact.
5a. About a million times. 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, parents, friends....so many times.
best decision I ever made...only took my kids repeatedly saying "I don't want you to die" for about a year to get me to do it.
Do what you want but Its just sooooo bad...nothing personal to any of you----I just don't want my tax dollars to pay for your emphysema treatment after Obama passes/pushes this socialized health care crud either... my best friend is only 41 and just got diagnosed with it... he still wont quit and he has a 6 year old little girl... sad.sad.sad. if he keeps it up he'll be lucky to see her graduate from elementary school...
plus, you all don't realize it, cause I didn't till I quit --but you and your clothes smell like a wet ashtray.... yummmmm......it is honestly a very very disgusting, very bad habit....
I still could go for a nice cigar every now and again/ and have had a few since I quit the cigs.
The old line..."There's no vert like a convert"...definitely applies to me at this point in time. lol
I wont refuse to smoke it if there is a birth (the traditional handing out of a cigar still happens) of a child from a friend or special some special occasion- like my buddy got his first deer hunting... and he shared cigars from that a couple years back.... ..im definitely not a smoker anymore.... I have had a few over the 8 years since I quit.. but I would never dare smoke another cig
