I did the math. It's cheaper for me to pay S&H; (no sales tax) on Amazon than to drive all over Dallas looking for stuff. Nothing is centralized in this city.

More in person but, if there's a deal or if I can't find something anywhere else but online then I'll shop there

I rarely shop online, because I need to feel and look closely at what I am buying. And I don't trust most online retailers. I am just paranoid that way.

I do both, but during the holidays I shop online whenever I can because I HATE trying to find parking spaces in malls, or try to get through the crowds. I hate crowds.

I like shopping where I receive eye to eye contact, which is why I do very little on line.

Me too, you know everything now is done on line, I've had three interviews on line for a part-time position. I feel that employers are cheating themselves out of choosing quality workers because they are unable to look at the person in the eyes, read their body language and discern good from their conversation. Nothing is like it use to be.

I agree. Employers can get a better perspective on future employees if they talk to them in person. Fortunately I was always interviewed in person.

Me too, but I'm trying to get a job where I can work 3-4 hours a day, but seemingly everything is done on line now. Maybe the good Lord is telling me that it's time to just enjoy the rest of my life with family and friends. I've worked ever since I was 13 years old, and my last day of work was September 19, 2011. Don't know what to do with myself, I have a feeling that in January my grandaughter is going to want me to babysit, she just had a little boy last month, he was named after me, I am Maxine and he is Macklin, he is so precious.

When I left my full time job, after a few months I became bored. I was fortunate enough to get a part time job at a local manufacturing company as their Saturday receptioist. And it was great. And I filled in sometimes when one of the full time gals was sick or on vacation. It was a lot of fun. Got to meet a lot of nice people. But then I had a knee surgery so I gave that up. Now I do some volunteer work or just do whatever I want to do. And I love it. I love not being on anyone's schedule except my own.

Right now, for the first time in my adult life, I am enjoying doing what I want, when I want. I'm also finding out that I am able to hold on to my money better, when you work, you have commuting cost, eating out, and participating in office functions. However, I do have moments when I'd like to have something PT to do, I haven't vigoriously pursued finding a job yet. I kind of think that when my grandchild goes back to work, I'm going to be the baby-sitter, which will be very fulfilling.

I wish you luck! I know babysitting is one of the toughest jobs ever. I'm not sure I would want to be tied down again.

I know that's right, but I am happy to be included in the upbringing of this baby, because some of the stuff that these young people come up with is off the hook. I had to have a very serious, long talk with my granddaughter about breast feeding, and the correct way to do so. These kids now-a-days just feel that whatever they feel like doing, they do, being lady-like, how to dress, how to talk in front of your children, some of these babies are blessed to have grandmothers and great-grandmothers. She's a good kid, but they just think that folks from back in the day is out of touch, until they get in trouble, and then they think that you know everything. My granddaughter pretty much runs the show, her husband just quietly watches and listens. My son calls my house quality of life boot camp. I see little children and they are so gross at the mouth, I want my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to be well mannered, do good in school and be a great contributor to society. Many of the children are like they are, because there is a break down in parenting and in the classroom. I think that I will enjoy watching him, plus I will be helping his mother and father financial wise.

I agree 100%. Kids needs their grandparents more now than ever before. And I know you can instill all the good things that they will need to grow.

I never had any problems, most of the time,i buy from Amazon.
I did once buy a digital camcorder from QVC and it wasn't exactly what i thought it was,so i returned it for a different model and they made it a even swap, even though the other model i wanted, cost a little more.
I buy lots of stuff from drugstoreDOTcom,i get what i need,to last mostly for a month, when you buy a certain amount, shipping is free, and i been checking their prices and for the most part, they have better prices then i can find, running around burning gas....

I've shopped online a couple of times, especially from QVC, jewelry, some toys at Christmas and I've always had pretty good luck. One time I ordered a set of storage bowls and when they arrived all the lids were busted. I returned them and QVC paid the shipping costs back to them. I thought that was pretty cool.

I was suspicious of another site, can't remember what it was. But I ordered a Christmas gift, gave them my credit card number. Everything seemed fine and then the following day they called me on the phone and said they had lost my card number, no way was I going to give anyone that info on the phone. So I cancelled the complete order. The site might have been fine but I wasn't sure who that person was that called.

Online mostly, i dont like fighting the crowds plus i like not paying taxes on amazon nor shipping and handling on many items. Unfortunately that may change because my loser governor forced amazon to add a sales tax here in TN starting in 2014.
