Actually ..
I've found things that are economical .. and that I can also use ..
take them apart, use for another purpose/function ..
it is a good way to recycle ..
(and find a new USE!)
I've used some of my finds in SCULPTURE projects I've worked on!
During Bush I was going thrifting and going out to eat. Prices have gone up on groceries, gas, thrift stores...everything has gone up in prices and I am not getting paid more to keep up with it. During Bush I was going to see my parents a lot. I could afford to rent a car and pay for gas. My quality of live has taken a big nose dive.
I am not saying Bush was a saint. I am just saying things are worse for me now.
We lost our buisness and our cars and almost became homeless during Bush times. The recession hit while he was in office. Now we are flat broke working ANY mjob we can find...which there aren't many. Don't blame Obama for what bush started.
I wouldn't count on that... The hole is to deep....Obama has just made it 10x worse...it was the people of China who were paid slave wages to build our railroads.... now the people of China are coming back to own our railroads as well as the states of Florida, New York, Texas and California. Learn how to bow in a convincing way.....
i spend even less than that for clothes. the one i go to is run by all volunteers and our local lions club and so they can sell the stuff real cheap. i get shirts for 50cents and jeans for 1.00 and shoes for 1.00 hoodies can run anywhere from 50 cents to 1.00
and I wil shop even more whenthe Fairtax is implemented and I will not have to pay tax on the items I purchase. Under the Fairtax there is no tax on used items.
they dont charge taxes on the stuff i buy. and anything i buy there is tax deductible because the money is for charity. and what i donate is tax deductible too.
Love them...
I donate more now as my kids get older.. They went through clothes so fast, I could barely keep up, so I shopped at the good will and always managed find decent clothes and shoes for them, even brand name stuff with the orginal tags still on them, for way cheaper than dept. stores.
I think it's great for the community and for the world that we recycle and reuse things that are still usable. Not everything has to be brand new or expensive to be valuable.
Thrift stores finds might not always be brand new, but they're new to you ; )
