Do You Say What You Mean, or What Others Want To Hear?

Well, it goes without saying that most folks here would automatically answer 'yes' to that question, as it pertains to SH; after all, that's allegedly the whole purpose of this site, 'to express opinions.'

And whether its actually accurate or not, that's groovy; everyone here has the choice to express themselves.

But what about when it comes to interacting with the people you actually care about?
Some folks tend to speak their minds freely, even if it means that others might not like it.
Meanwhile, some people want to avoid conflict at all costs, so they often indulge in merely placating those they care about while keeping their true thoughts to themselves.

And sometimes, that CAN be the better course of action; depending upon the circumstances, some things are better left unsaid.
But overall, I personally favor being upfront and direct, as a matter of basic respect, unless it's a truly hyper-sensitive situation; it cuts down on miscommunication and potential misunderstandings in the long run.
But maybe that's just me.
What say you?
And yeah, the drill is still the same; be civil to others or beat it.

Words..I am Exceptionally "Heavy at That "
I am not the kind to instigate trouble and don't want to say anything derogatory, but may ONLY if something is initiated by another. I may respond to intentionally and unnecessarily cruel, unfair or unjust remarks. If something is directed at me for little cause OR toward others, I will most likely react. I am here to share and interact with the otherwise seemingly lovely people of all ages I have encountered. And that's the way it is.
The only person who can change someone's mind is that person him or herself.
So noted.
:)
At the same time, there's such a thing as 'overdoing it.'
If you 'edit' your commentary to the point that your thoughts have no actual substance, that's doing a disservice to not only yourself, but to whomever you are addressing as well.
=D
That's too close to coddling for my tastes.
Oh, and happy Friday, K.
