Unless it's only us two, then I say it to be polite.
But I don't believe in superstitious beliefs, so I know their soul doesn't fly out of their body when they sneeze...

Nope we say "gezondheid" like the German "gesuntheid" (wishing you health)

But to me it is no blessing when I sneeze , did you know that it is possible to break ribs when you have an allergic sneeze attack ?

Religious people are the ones who started the 'bless you' idea as the people believed that the heart stopped during a sneeze. You had to say bless you to restart the heart.

It is utter foolishness.
