I prefer to do everything indoors. You have temperature control, less people to bother you, much better!

I love the outdoors and I'm a walker. I can just keep going until I'm so tired I have to turn around and walk all the way home or back to the car, depending on where I go.

Open space and fresh air. Can't get any better than that... unless it rains. Sad in the rain GIF

As long as the weather is nice enough, it's outdoors. Indoors when it's nasty outside.

I'm off for my pre-dawn walk each morning (weather permitting) before most people have turned on their lights. I like watching the progression of the planets and constellations.

Outdoors in summer, indoors in winter. With snow and ice covering all the roads/nature paths, and -20c outside and the occasional snow storm, I can hardly convince myself to go out running knowing that I'd slip on something every 5 minutes and get too hot with all the winter gear on, but get scars from the frost if I didn't have it on.

So for winter months, I have a gym membership, in the summer and on non-snowy seasons I just go outside for my workout.

I agree...when it's really cold and windy it's hard to get outside to exercise.

I'd have to say indoors, I'm not much of an outdoorsmen during the winter! Its less to worry about, and plus if someone where to fall and were a bit older and frail they would have more of attendency to fall and hurt themselves... I maybe a youngin at the age of 25, but you never know you could sprain your back knees or something else... I ended up with a compression fracture down in my lower back, and doctors discovered that they found an old injury too from when I was younger as well!! But then again when I decided to go outside last during the winter the sidewalks looked so deciving it was all ice and I fell and it was brutal to get up again after that!

Outdoors is great when the weather is nice.

The picture of the two people running in snow? Yikes! Wouldn't you be afraid to slip on an ice patch? Too dangerous for me, I'll stick with the gym.

Indoors is climate controlled. Outdoors it is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter where I live...

I get all the exercise I need at work.

I also walk to and from work, about an hour. If it rains, I have to bring another set of clothes--the full kit--in a plastic bag. When it's cold, I have to bundle up...but when I work, it's down to a T-shirt.

Depends on what I'm doing, really. Martial arts I tend to do in the studio, but I love tennis and basketball.

I do like ditching the gym for a really long bike ride in the summer, but I can't stand making my way to the car to drive to the gym in the winter.. can't imagine running in the cold.
Also, I don't have my own weights and I prefer to have the mirror in front of me when I lift... although I've been thinking of buying a kettlebell and that cross-skip system to use in my backyard in the summer.

Considering my exercise of choice is hooping, I'm going to say outdoors because my house is too small for me to really hoop in. Plus, there is something about hooping in nature that is very zen. The only problem is temperature. I can't really hoop outside in the Winter, and sometimes it gets so hot in the Summer that I can't stand it.

I run a 2 1/4 mile trail thru the woods. Now I'm stuck jump roping for 1/2 hour for my warm up before work out. How gross is that!
  • Ramon rightside 2012/12/17 11:35:16

Jump roping is really good exercise. I'm doing that sometimes as a wind down or a warm up for my normal exercise routine.
