There is no chip in my book that tells Amazon or anyone else what I am reading, what I've ordered, etc.

I love reading from my Nook. There are so many benefits. You can download a book any time and you don't have to leave the house, you can easily access books from authors you like but haven't read all their stuff, you don't end up with exploding book shelves.

Tablets are definitely convenient for heavy textbooks, but when I'm reading for fun, I prefer to have the feel of an actual book.

Always. I'd only use a tablet if I needed to put textbooks on it, they're too heavy.

I work /stare at a computer screen for 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week... why in the hell would I want to stare at another screen while trying to enjoy a good story?

I love my books...they don't break when they get dropped. I like tablets too, they hold my whole library.

I have fond memories of books (like I do with any physical medium) but the E-Reader is easier and a lot more portable.

Both; at home I cozy up to a nice hard cover book, when I'm traveling the tablet is a much needed accessory.

I love reading just about anything and everything. I do have a tablet and a kindle. I read on those now because I have no room for books in my small apartment. But, I much prefer a book.

I love to pick up a book - hardcover or paperback and read!
I ove to pick up my Grandma's Bible when I need some
reassurance and I love the smell of a new book. There is so
much excitement going to yardsells and auctions and opening
a book. There's no telling what you'll find in one. My Grandma
kept a pretty ironed hankey in her Bible for a bookmark. I was
taught to respect books and to love them.

When I had more time to read recreationally, I really enjoyed book format. Since I have had NO time to read recreationally, I have to find key information quickly, and the Kindle app on my Android phone helps by allowing me to search using keywords and zero in on exactly what information I need right when I need it.

Technically, my answer is "neither" since I use my phone - I do this because it's a lot more portable than even a tablet and offers a lot of functionality aside from just being a reading device. I don't have to carry around several books OR devices, and can just clip it to my belt or pants waistband. I can also review notes, marks, and bookmarks instead of just "dog-eared" pages, which can be anything and everything to sift through before I get to what I need. Keeping my finger on the pulse of business and management principles and the latest relevant information is too important to have to waste time - I need it "NOW, NOW NOW." (Insert smiley here.)

My kindle, hands down, simply for saving me from the inconvenience of having books piled to the ceiling. Since I've bought my e-reader a couple of years ago I've downloaded and read over 200 books, books that would have been taking up space. My downloaded books are at my fingertips for traveling and I love it. Besides the books are cheaper many of the books are free.

Should have put an other category because I would have chosen both, I like to have a book but when I travel it is so much more convenient to have my tablet. I can carry more books without the bulk and don't have to carry reading glasses with me. Now that I've gone through some of the comments I have to add that I buy most of my College textbooks for my tablet so I can transfer highlights and comments from my tablet to computer much easier than retyping quotes and such, made my Master's program much easier than my Undergrad life many years ago.

The only advantage that kindle has over books is that the books aren't strewn all over my house otherwise I really don't have a preference.
