I got spoiled with not having trick or treaters while I lived in the country, starting in 1977, and I have never taken up the practice since then. What a ridiculous way to waste money and waste a whole evening answering the door! NEVER AGAIN! Halloween is the most ridiculous excuse for a "holiday" that I can think of!

No little kids in town anymore. The bigger ones go to parties now. I had to eat the candy the last couple of years. Hard chore!

No child goes trick or treating on a college campus. Plus, trick or treating just might be canceled this year. Who knows what damage "Frakenstorm" might cause.....

came home from the hospital just recently ..
I'm just going to relax and rest up ...
don't need the stress of answering the door or even going to the local Fall Festival ..

Yes, but that's only to the kids who actually come to our house, some are to scared, others think we have no candy because none of our decorations light up.

I.. am not buying candy for greedy children who dress up like idiots and pretend to celebrate a holiday they know nothing about. Plus, I live in an apartment complex, and there are maybe three families with kids. Nope

..yes and no...I always buy candy (that I like) but I've never had a trick-or-treater in the 12 years I've owned this place..(it sits way back from the road..)

When I was living with my parents we would have a tradition, and I'm continuing now that this is my first Halloween on my own.

We hand out chips and chocolate, and the first kid to make a second trip receives a DVD.

This year I'm giving this movie to the first kid to come to my apartment twice.

Because it's STUPID, as well as expensive and just plain annoying..............even dangerous these days, if you open your door to the wrong people.

Oh c'mon! Trick or treating is fun for the kids and it's not that expensive to buy a few bags of candy.

Spent $50 earlier tonight buying it and we'll be out by 830pm, but I'd rather give out tons of "safe" candy to kids in hopes that they fill their bags early than have them go to alot of houses and take chances of getting something contaminated from some sicko.

I bought the candy then asked the neighbors how many kids usually show up.
    "None" was the answer.

Eco-friendly individually wrapped carrot and celery sticks with warnings and instructions and Mrs. obama's picture on them. Oh, the horrors.
