budget very tightly ..
so my bills are paid ..
and I've got a little cushion for any additional emergencies during the month ..
(just always been very RESPONSIBLE with my income .. )
Once in the past ten years, due to a bounced deposit (my paycheck). But I have OD protection that automatically transfers funds from savings to checking.
I utilize Electronic Banking now. As soon as I "write" a check, the bank automatically sets the money aside. I haven't had an overdraft since I started this account. There's no room for mathematical errors.
Only one time! I overdrew the checking by 14 cents and it cost me $35. which they withdrew from my savings. Would have been nice had they transferred the 14 cents from savings to checking like they always do on my regular account!
