I like knowing what my kids are doing/playing/watching. If they think it's ok for them to play/watch, then it's ok for the rest of the family. If it's in the family viewing area, then my wife and I get to make the judgement call as to whether they should be playing/watching it or not.

Nope. And I didn't allow it with my granddaughters when they lived with me either. In fact, the rule in our home is for every 1/2 hour of TV or gaming you want, you have to "buy" it with an hour of playing outside, crafting/arts or reading.

As long they fiollow the rules... kids will be kids nowadays is different times, more technology, just watch for them and monitor them to make sure they are doing what they suposse too, my kids doesn't hide from me, because I do play with them games, they know I am there to help them and not to punish them and be in their business, they want for me to play with them.

If they wanted, yes. I had a tv in my room for years, a long with a DVD player. I just got tired of it after a while and stopped watching tv enough to keep it.

She will never have a computer in her room in our home. Maybe a TV later on when she's a teen. She won't want a video game machine in her room because our entertainment area in the basement can't be beat! LOL
