Use to be volunteer as red and white {Candy Stripper} out fit to go hospital to carry food tray etc..nowadays there is no Candy Stripper at the hospital.
As a young kid, I was a ball-boy at the Australian Open tennis tournament - fortunately for me, I was able to do the last one at ol' Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club and the first two at Rod Laver Tennis Arena (then named Melbourne Park).
Then I was a track marshall at the first two Melbourne F1 Grands Prix at Albert Park in the late 90s.
And for the past couple of years I have been a foster carer for a dog rescue group - does that count?!!
When I was a teenager I went with a church group down to Mexico to help rebuild some homes. Wen t back the next year, everything we had done was ruined, it was the last time I ever volunteered for anything.
I volunteer for the Red Cross Good Neighbor program. We pick up seniors, not able to drive, take them to a center for a noon meal. The take out meals to the home bound and then take the people home after the meal is over. I do this one day a week.
i worked at allen botanical gardens helping with the planting of flowers,allen tree farm and allen food pantry (all back in texas btw) now i have to find something to do here in london.. any ideas?
Yes I volunteer at a community center for mental heath working in their kitchen preparing meals and baking bread and cookies. Its a realy good time and mekes me feel good to give something back to the community.
I help with community clean ups, I volunteer at several animal rights groups. I volunteer to serve Christmas dinner to homeless, shut-ins and the elderly.
Oh let's see...I helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity, teach figure skating to inner city children and to children with disabilities, volunteer judge, and let's not forget being a candy striper!
