The United States once had safe, beautiful cities that were the envy of the entire world, but now many of them are degenerating into rotting, festering, crime-ridden hellholes. All over the country there are communities where crime, drugs, gangs and human trafficking have gotten completely and totally out of control.

Once upon a time you could walk down the streets of most U.S. cities at night without much fear, but these days there are many large American cities where it would be absolutely crazy to wander around the streets at night unless you want to be mugged, shot or sexually assaulted. If you end up at the wrong place at the wrong time you might end up being abducted by a human trafficker or have your face eaten off by a crazed drug addict high on bath salts.

With each passing day our cities degenerate just a little bit more, and life in many of our worst communities truly has become a living hell. Sadly, this comes at a time when the United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world by far. We have tried to lock as many people away as possible and our communities are still turning into hellholes. So where do we go from here?

The following are 12 factors that are turning the streets of America into a living hell....

Police are not that great at STOPPING things from happening they are more for clean up and finding the person to punish them.

The USA has a different culture as far as weapons are concerned. I, and no one I know, would dream of carrying a weapon as it is simply not a necessity. Carrying a gun carries an automatic prison sentence in the UK, even just owning one is an imprisonable offence.

Thankfully gun ownership legislation is the most regulated and strictest than just about any other nation. Carrying a weapon is totally morally and socially unacceptable in the UK. Recently an opinion Poll showed that more than 90% of the UK population were against any ownership of hand guns. Also the UK has one of the lowest homicide rates caused by firearms in the developed world.

The US has 29 times as many homicides due to firearms as a percentage of the population than the UK.

BS! Missouri has the "castle doctrine" and is a right to carry state, so I feel safe where ever I go! Take Chicago or Washington, DC both have some of the toughest gun control laws in America and the highest crime rate.

I don't live in America, I used to. So.which part is BS exactly? The fact that I now live in one of the safest countries in the world with one of the lowest gun crimes rates thanks to it's laws. Or that statistically the US is not a more dangerous place when it comes to gun crimes compared with the UK. The figures for last year 2011 saw the lowest gun crime rates in the UK at since records began.

    The evidence is crystal clear.

15 to 30 minutes for police to respond, when it's over in 5 minutes or less.
