Are you tweeting away or messaging your Facebook friends when watching a movie? Well, according to a recent Pew Study, an increasing amount of teens certainly are. A recent poll from The Hollywood Reporter found that "80 percent of TV viewers like to browse Facebook while they watch their favorite shows. The poll also found that young people (ages 18-34) would like to use social media while they are watching movies in theaters, if given the choice."

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM reports:
According to a recent Pew Study, the number of teens who text is increasing, as is the number of texts sent per day. Given this, it's probably not the most OMG-worthy news to most young people that a recent poll from The Hollywood Reporter found that 80 percent of TV viewers like to browse Facebook while they watch their favorite shows.

No. I go to movie theaters to watch a movie, not get on the internet. Why are some people so addicted to Facebook? It's not that interesting of a website and you don't need to be on it every second of the day. The same goes for just being on your cell phone in general. You can wait a few hours to respond to texts, and if you can't, leave the theater.

If they are right next to me in the theatre I talk.But it is usually annoying to them.Otherwise, I turn off my phone so it doesn't ring.Did anyone notiace that the photo is enhanced to show the girl three different places and the boy twice!!!

I'm not rude... a lot of people that go to the movies are!

I can't believe this Texas theater actually made a PSA from a voicemail of drunken, angry, swearing woman who was pissed that she was kicked out for texting. Awesome!

Before the movie starts there's a notice on the screen for everyone to turn off their cell phones............thank goodness. I don't like a friend to keep talking to me during the movie either, I can listen to them for free anytime - I don't have to pay for a seat to do it. I go there to watch the movie, not have conversations. lol I think it's fun to visit a cafe and discuss the movie then.

Depends on the situation, and what ya would be doing, not so much the movie..I don't like distractions if it's a really good movie, but if it's boring, then I still won't distract for te ones that like it

It doesn't depend on the movie it depends on the situation...
I work at an outdoor cinema and when I am at work there are certain times that I have to do certain things, so I tend to check my phone or talk to others while watching (out of the way of the punters so as to not disturb them).
When I go to a cinema to watch a movie I will just sit and watch but if I get a text I will reply (with my phone on low brightness and silent) but I won't just sit there texting through the whole movie and if I have to take a call I will leave the room.
Never had a complaint.

I watch a movie the same way I read a book. I am into total immersion. But back in the late 80's and early 90's, when we would hit theatres on 40deuce, NYC, it was audience participation all the way!!! Jumping out of seats, screaming at the characters! It was fun!

But I watch TV at the same time that I am on SH. Sometimes you can tell that I am distracted. I try to be quite at the movie. I hate it when people make noise when I am trying to watch the movie.

Yes...having adhd,i hav a very hard time sitting thru a movie,or even staying seated.Luckily movies r crap these days. If im required to go..will lv at least four times and get sev snacks,make calls,go to th car...text in th restroom...anything not to waste time trapped.
