Do you look down on people who work in fast food?

I was reading an article on Yahoo about how some resturants mistreat their workers, and some of the comments people made implied that anyone who works in fast food must be a high school dropout with no ambition or an illegal immigrant. That seems pretty ignorant to me. What do you think?

I don't look down on them I sympathise with them. I may eat at a fast food restaurant every now and then but deep down I detest those places.

I worked in it and I know how bad it sucks. I think everyone should have to work in fast food maybe they would appreciate the workers more.

Can't understand why anyone would look down on a person who is employed in fast food. It may not be the best job in the world but certainly not the worst.

That would be an outrageous thing to do, those who work deserve respect, they contribute to the tax system and have proved that they can hold down a job.

Those people who think that they are better than those who work for fast food outlets should think again.

My ex works in fast food and trust me they have to work hard and put up with a lot from a lot of different people I commend them its better than just sitting at home collecting welfare or food stamps.

I mean, I know a few of them are high school drop outs, but some are immigrants who don't have the qualifications to work anywhere else, and a few friends of mine work at McDonalds part time while attending university.

They do that because this industry is low pay. It's still no excuse for rude treatment on the job though and is a lack of respect to workers as well.

I agree. It's alot of work for low, low pay but is a good job for kids right out of high school who want to make some money temporarily. Nothing wrong with that.
