Do you look down on people who work in fast food?

You!

I was reading an article on Yahoo about how some resturants mistreat their workers, and some of the comments people made implied that anyone who works in fast food must be a high school dropout with no ambition or an illegal immigrant. That seems pretty ignorant to me. What do you think?

I work in fast food. I actually really like where I'm working and the pay is decent enough to stay. Got a son to support :)

I don't look down on anyone who works for an honest living. They work hard for what little money they get and deserve some respect.

I don't look down on anybody who actually works for a living no matter how menial the job. If it's honest work, it should be respected.

Good heavens no. I respect anyone who works for a living and contributes to society. There are many who can't find any kind of a job. I think it's great.

My son is a manager at a fastfood chain. It's appalling how some people treat workers. At one time all my kids worked at this chain. And they have all had people yell at them, try to scam free food, curse at them, throw food or drinks at them. It's really sickening. The worst recently was this guy in a new Mercedes who came after the store had closed to the drive thru and started banging on the window, cussed out my son and threatened him. But then my daughter worked at Macy's and would get women who bought high end items that would return them after obviously wearing them.

People who treat people like dirt just because they work as a fast food worker or other "service" type jobs should by law have to work as a "service type worker" themselves and then they would know what it feels like to deal with people like them!

Before one puts themselves as high and mighty they best think that these people are WORKING you know EARNING their money. These are the working poor that some idiots claim are the takers and leeches of the system but that is hard to state without making themselves a lier. These people have the same worth as somebody who has college degree jobs. If they are not there you will not have somebody to get you your Big Mac.

Every person is where they r in life because it's where they r. No reason to look down on them, besides you wouldn't be able to eat there if they didn't work there. Someone has to make the food and sell it.

When I left my abusive ex I needed a job, pronto, as he has caused me to lose the one I had. I got one that very day at McDonald's and I continued to work there for nearly a year until I found a good solid job. It paid the bills, and that's all I wanted from it. It's a job, people. Why someone works where they do is not my business.......it can be a safety net. Start judging people by this and the people that would've worked there will be all' I don't want people to think I'm....blah, blah, blah.' Have some respect for someone doing a crappy, crappy job to make a $ honestly.
