Soy bean products, like tofu, contains a substance called phytoestrogens.Which is chemically similar to the hormone estrogen.Experts claim soy-based foods might lower testosterone levels in men, hamper thyroid function, cause weight gain and disrupt hormones.
It's nasty alone, but it can be good with other things. I used to make an omelet that had some tofu in it. The other flavors overpowered any tofu taste. Also, I've gotten some of the flavored tofu--there was a teriyaki flavor which was good, and put it in salads. Tofu tends to be very bland and needs something else to perk it up.
I've had it fixed several ways .. (I actually was stationed overseas) just can't get beyond the .. ugh .. taste of the stuff .. I'd rather have the foods .. withOUT the tofu ..
LOL! There are just some stuff you can't get beyond. I had mussels for the first time. I love most seafood, but besides being more rubbery even than clams, it was, well, fishy tasting. It was oily and fishy, so I'll pass on the mussels in the future.
Now I do know what you mean here! there's some things that each person just can't get beyond .. a mix of taste/smell/texture .. that is .. well .. ugh to you .. (for me .. it is not about sight of the dish .. it is about taste, texture and smell .. )
i love tofu i went through a period of eating it like almost every meal and its good for your hair too but i would just eat it with plain tofu and a little bit of soy sauce on it
Actually I do...good in stir fries and as a meat replacement...very versatile and absorbs the flavors of whatever it's cooked in...but it can be tricky to cook and will turn into a slimy white abomination if cooked wrong
No thanks.I don't want "man boobs"

Unfortunately it's not the easiest to make . . .
I mean, really, what the hell is that?
We eat a heck of a lot of tofu, seitan, tempeh, etc...
Not coagulated soy milk.
