Never had an issue with SW.

Aloha Airlines also had a a roof come off in flight a while back & landed safely with only one casualty.

I've used it one time for flight from BWI to Nashville (so I could rent a car from Nashville and move my stuff from Memphis). It was ok, got what I expected.

I would not use them and not because of the recent airframe issue though I think it gives us some insight into the maintenance of their jets. I think all airlines are doing all the cost cutting they can to be competitive. It would be like you deciding to save on auto care by stretching out oil changes. At some point that choice will bite you in the butt.

I would not use Southwest because of their boarding policy. People are rude and crude and this policy probably brings out the worst in all of us. They shove their way to the front of the line and then try to stuff their oversized bags into any available overhead space. Then I'm sure they slam their seats back into the knees of the person behind them. No thanks. I'll pay more for a ticket to be able to select my seat in advance.

I said "No"...but I've just never used them.

I guess they didn't fly between the cities I needed to travel between. I've got an upcoming trip to Milwaukee, out of SRQ, but I could do Tampa. I don't think I saw a Southwest available, or Air Tran was just cheaper.

not any more. remember about 10 years ago when planes were falling out of the sky because of Tail problems?

    It was Southwest.

My cousin works for United and he tried to explain the problem away when it was simple neglect and laziness for not doing a complete maintenance job on the plans in the first place.

    Now its happening again.

I'm not flying Southwest ever again and I suggest that you don't either.

I don't like that they don't have movies, good food, etc. I flew with them because they had the lowest amount of crashes, I hate flying so that was important to me.

If I could get over my fear of flying and crashes, I would probably go with someone else.

Never been a fan of the "Cattle Call" for boarding a plane. Plus haven't found their prices to be that great either,.. Still I suppose they are ok for the occassional travel if they are the only one providing a direct non-stop flight.

I will only fly SW under 2 hour flights otherwise I fly United.. I basically live in/out of airplanes and SW doesn't have first class for long flights so I just can't use SW, but for short flights, you really can't beat it.. the number of flights, ease of changing flights, etc.. SW is great for short flights for me..

I don't care for any of the cattle car airlines. I especially don't care for the regional jets. Ever sat next to a very obese person on one of those? They ooze out everywhere.

Like nuclear reactors, airplanes have a useful lifespan. When you try to exceed it, you run into serious problems. I prefer to fly without the retractable sunroof option.

    Not really.

They are cheap-- but you get what you pay for.

Airplanes that are overbooked, people crammed into them like sardines, and virtually NO inflight service... I'd rather take Amtrak, and get there with what little sanity I still have.
