LOVE them. Worked with Them as strays and abuse cases since I was about 12. Currently I volunteer with a pit rescue which deals with abuse cases and I am in the process of becoming a foster mommy! These are wonderful dogs and anyone with extensive experience with them knows that.

Any negative opinion a person may have of this breed is based purely in ignorance and I pity them.

they get a really bad reputations. most pitbulls ive bumped into are very friendly. the owners give them the bad reputation on how they raise them.

in fact i have a pit bull boxer mix named faydra!!! and shes absolutely awsome!! smart as a whip and listens very well. she looks a little bit like this dog black and brown brindle and white trim.

I have three kids and two pitbulls and they all are big babies. I've also had pits my whole life and will not get any other breed. They are the best breed I've ever seen

My little maltese died some years ago ... she was the sweetest little dog in the world and went everywhere with either me or my son and his friends... they were always playing with her ... I would love to replace her, but wow they have gotten soooooo expensive now,compared to back then ...

I had a few and they were always the most loyal dogs granted I could never have another dog in the yard or walk past the house but I never had any trouble with them I think they get bad press bcause people treat them the wrong way. when I was growing up the most vicious dog in our street was a french poodle it would attack anything or anyone that would come near it so it doesnt matter what breed the dog is it all in the upbringing

they are the most loyal breed of dog ever.
The only reason they are good dog fighters(horrible as it dog fighting is) is because they will do anything to please their owner(master). they saw that being aggressive pleases those sick bastards that used them for fighting and that is why they become aggressive.

I like just about all dogs that aren't rabid. That said, Pit Bulls were bred for one purpose, which is pretty much illegal now. Some can be nice, but you are playing with fire when you own a pit bull. There are so many other breeds to choose from and so many mutts that need a home, it escapes me why anybody would want one.

That's what people say about undomesticated "pets" like tigers. I hope you are right. They are fun dogs. My cousin has one. My dad is a vet and he had a number of clients with them when he was in practice. He can tell you some stories. My point is not that they are all bad or even that most of them are bad. But they are a high risk and there are so many other options to choose from. I wouldn't pick one because I prefer Airdales if I were to get a pure bred or some kind of terrier. They are high strung and probably not the Best choice for most people, either. If I were going to recommend a dog and you were willing to pay for one, I'd recommend a collie if you want a bigger dog or a sheltie if you want a smaller dog. If you don't want a long haired dog, perhaps a retired greyhound. If you don't want to pay for a purebred dog, visit the shelter. Not saying I'm right, only sharing my opinion.

Yes, I grew up wi5h a dog nmed Bud. My Father's Doig. who thought he owned me and was my constant companion as a child. He never growled or barked. he had some burgulars in the neighborhood which stayed far away from our hoise. But that is a wonderfu;l story in itself. Let's say that a theif got intop our house whi;e we were not ho,me. Bud had his very own pair of pants, a pair of keys and 76 cents in change.

I was washing a Pitt Bull and I must have touched a very sensitive spot on his side and he bit me repeatedly and drew my hand like a rag puppet, I could not kick him in the nuts for him to let go cause the owner was there and would be upset. I never looked at another pit again ever.

were you afraid of him to begin with, they can sense that and it makes them nervous..not just pitts, any dog. If you're ever afraid or nervouse of a dog , just dont go near it cause your body language, and tention offsets them.

Sometimes they're not fed enough or on time and the slightest touches with them triggers their anger, I was not afraid of the dog if I were washing him but I feel he wasn't in a good in mood and felt uncomfortable in some instance that triggered retaliation, I don't know

they're not typically angry dogs, They are a very high maintenance high energy breed if not handled correctly or trained / excercised regularly they become a very agitated dog (singularly), as with any other high energy dog when they arnt handled regularly or excercised they dont have an out for all of that. sorry for your experience

while not always the smartest dog (we had one once who was simply brainless), they are sweet good dogs...its nurture not nature,...
these are adorable dogs who get abused and mistreated
