I recently moved to yet another rural area where the neighbors are a comfortable distant away and I realized that I will probably never see them and most certainly never know them.I moved from a rural area and I don't think I exchanged even a paragraph with any of the folks there.It seems to me that even if you are living in an apartment and can hear everything that goes on in the place next to yours you're still not likely to ever learn the persons name.In neighborhoods where you can almost reach across to say, borrow a cup of sugar from your windows chances are you wouldn't recognize the other if you were shopping at the same store.

I've always made a point of getting to know those who shared property lines even if their house was a mile away.
Even if you're total opposites, it's good to have at least a speaking relationship without being nosy or overbearing.

im a very out going chatty person lol, even my bus drivers and local store workers know who i am by name haha.
i know pretty much all of mine apart from the ones that are always shouting and screaming i cant be botherd with that drama.

The neighbors I have now are fine but I once had a neighbor that was caught on a ladder screwing his horse!!!! I am not joking either! He was a bit...well ...he was ALOT slow! First his father died and then a few years later his mother died and they left him the property with a couple of horses and .... I guess he got lonely? Lots of weirdos out there folks! ya never know...your neighbor could be one too!

Now that you mention it the neighbor across the way did seem a little overly attached to one of his goats.I remember seeing him lead her into the house while carrying some Victoria's Secret bags in also and I could have sworn that I saw just a touch of lip stick and eye liner on her

haha funny! yes I could not believe it when I read it in the paper that my own neighbor was in jail for this! I talked to my other neighbors and found out that it was a couple who lived off another road behind us that called the police and reported what they saw! Can you even imagine running into something like this? oml I would lose it in laughter or sorrow one!

If I were him I would have screamed my innocence at the top of my lungs,I would have said that the neighbors were well known pathological liars and are operating a meth lab out of their barn.The best defense is a good offense.

Haha none of those, I live in the middle of the city and my neighbours are an apartment house of college students and an eccentric old lady who likes to yell at dogs. I'm fine without knowing them.

Not quite the perfect answer, but the closest. I usually don't bother much with my neighbors, I have had some nice quick chats when we meet on the stairs and such (I live in an apartment building). Most of them are lovely people, but there are a couple of them that have shown themselves to be nosy and troublesome. I never really forgave them for that and the continuing "snitching" to the office. It's horridly annoying.

That is why I will never live in a gated community or one with an association,alone or in combination seems to make even the most mild mannered folks turn into petty despots obsessed with making sure every one obeys the rules .

I make it a point to introduce myself to my neighbors. Beyond that it really depends on their interests and character, but remembering names and waving isn't an imposition.

neightboor 1-she's not friendly, she wants to know everything
neightboor 2-a mother who lives with her 2 daughters and a baby boy, they r friendly and her daughters r my friends
neightboor 3-a family who had 4 children, 1 of them is my friend since we were kids but...his brother(17yo)died ='(

In order to have a good neighbor, just be a good neighbor, because nine times out of 10, people are doing the best they can. it is best not to live in a neighborhood, where it is necessary to shut down 16 crack houses. ROFLMAO

I know the neighbors close to me - and we all watch out for each other too. I wouldn't have the job I have if my neighbor didn't know me well enough to see I would be the perfect person to do it.

Living in an apartment building, I have three neighbors - one to the side, upstairs and downstairs. I had some major trouble with my next door neighbor several years ago, but that stopped when I had her arrested and got an order of protection. Since then, we avoid each other like the plague. The other two are great and I know all the other people on my floor.

My last house in Missouri City Texas had a wonderful neighbor.Would watch my dad when I had to leave the house cause he was fall prone. On the other hand at the other house in the same neighborhood. The neighbor was a jackass.

I live in a culde-sac I know three of my four neighbors and I used to know everyone in my hometown which was super rural (we only had 90 people mostly spread out)
