The wealth of nations, the free market and your picture. I think Malthus is more at work in the housing bubble and current BS, though. NO BAILOUT, see Buffet's MUCH better plan.

Known as the father of Capitolism. Was a social phylisopher in the colonial era. Wrote "the wealth of nations". He was from England. Beleived that the government should keep it's hands out of the market and allow countries to trade freely. And that's all I can think of on the top of my head.

Of course, he was the Author of the Wealth of nations (among various others) and is considered by many to be the father of modern economics for the post industrial revolution.

Good. Enjoy it. If you find you're not, take a break, and try again later. Of course, start it early. This is indeed a book to be enjoyed.

I just wanted to see how many people know about one of the founding fathers of economics. Economics is so important in the world. It is everything in a sense. It doesn't matter if people didn't know him. However, it's probably a good idea. He wanted as little government intervention as possible. Look at us now... He is probally pounding and screaming in his grave.
