Logical fallacies are claimed to be part of theories in philosophical debates very often, so I know exactly what they are as I'm a big fan of philosophy. They are a constant of internet discussion in general, with circular logic being very popular.

    Here's my favorite one.

    Person A: *insert ridiculous claim*
Person B: "Please provide evidence to support that claim."
Person A: "What do you mean? It's common knowledge! It's not my job to educate you. Open up a book!"
Person B: "Erm, well maybe we read different books. Can you point me to where you learned that, just so I can know?"
    Person A: "Do it yourself!"
    Person B: *facepalm*

Yes to both. Many people on sodahead use logical fallacies and many people on sodahead are American, therefore I conclude that all Americans use logical fallacies.

Of course I do, and having a knowledge of logic is a great tool to argue, but people can also take it too far.

Taken literally, almost any argument, no matter how well constructed, could be considered fallacious.

It helps to have intelligence to go with a knowledge of rhetoric and argumentation. Considering that many of the people here do good to decipher words with multiple syllables, I think it is best to take baby steps.

FYI: I have read some your prior posts and 99% of them are fallacious. Just saying.

I have two degrees. One in Journalism & Mass Communications the other in Political Science with a focus on pre-law. They are from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My email address is private, but ends with @uwmALUMNI.com

Perhaps because you were feeling a tad inadequate? Kidding

Sorry for the 3rd degree. I was just wanting some man up as far as education is concerned, and I wish you all the best on your journey.
I have been a student a long ass time and I just feel most comfortable around other students.

That's a pretty good example of argumentum ad hominem - attacking the person instead of the argument they present.
