Do you know the difference between a Satanist and a Devil worshiper?

Chewy 2012/07/05 11:43:54
Yes I know the difference...Lavey was right!
No...I disagree there is NO difference!
I think Satan was an alien and He created us and the Church hid this and the "Devil Worshipers are right!
You!

There is a very real difference! A "Satanist" is someone who sees Satan (or The Devil) as a "symbol" of freedom from religion and it's ignorance and it's strictures and it's insanity. Satanists live for themselves and those who they choose and they live the way THEY want (as opposed to the way those who are religious are TOLD they MUST live or face eternal punishment)! The Satanist does unto others as they DO unto them...not the other way around (as Christians are constantly told to do)!

A "Devil Worshiper" on the other hand is someone who believes that there is a being we call "Satan" who is actually the "God" of this world and they think that by following and "worshiping" this "being" they will gain power, etc ( thus they are sort of like "AntiChristians" in that they are just as religious and enslaved as the Church is).

The Satanic Bible outlines what it means to be a true Satanist.

Satanism is the worship of the devil. Now it might make a travesty of Christian rites but it is still worshiping of the devil. From the free dictionary:

    Sa·tan·ism (stn-zm)
    n.
    1. The worship of Satan characterized by a travesty of the Christian rites.

As Satan is suppose to be the devil, I don't see much of a difference.

I know there are laveyan satanists, then some groups which instead of being atheistic are theistic so they worship but not like devil worshippers and then there are a few individuals who worship the christian devil but they're pretty much just Christians that hate Christianity.

there are no passages within the older parts of the Hebrew Scriptures where Satan is portrayed as an evil devil - the arch enemy of God and of humanity. At most, he is described as a henchman who carries out God's evil instructions. There is no dualism here between two powerful supernatural entities: an all-good God and an all-evil Satan. God is portrayed as performing, directly and indirectly, both kind and evil deeds. When:
plagues are to be sent, or
a great genocidal flood is created to kill off almost all of humanity, except for Noah and his family, or
Onan was killed because he practiced an elementary form of birth control, in violation of a cultural tradition, or
Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because its residents were abusive to the needy and to strangers, or
Lot's wife is turned into a pillar of salt because she looked the wrong way,

it is God who does it. In essence, the ancient writers of the early Hebrew Scriptures looked upon Jehovah as performing both good and evil deeds

Satan is mentioned ONCE in a passage in one of the books of Chronicles (where King David numbers the people...takes a census.) and one book says God made him do it and the other says it was a being called SATAN! Hmmmmmm....

you have to remember that the bible has been heavily edited over the centuries and things have been stuck in there when it was expedient to others who wanted to benefit.

Of course he is real, he was one of God's most beloved angels. Until he was thrown out of heaven. Just as there is good in the world there is evil. God is real and so is the devil. It is what it is. .

My personal relationship with Jesus is personal, and only he needs to understand what I think and feel. Since you cannot decide weather I live or die, what you think matters not at all.

what i think does matter as does what most people think. but thats okay we can exclude the fanatical ones. what they think definitely doesn't matter.LOLdelusional thinking is best kept away from the logical ones.
