Memories of deceased loves ones for example, I find myself pushing those thoughts in back of my mind because sometimes thinking about those people makes me sad and I don't want to be sad.
Professionals say it's not good to push those thoughts away but I say everyone has their own way of dealing.

- Freeranger 2012/06/21 20:42:24None of the above+1I just let it all flow. I'm one of those who could be working away or doing anything and something from my past pleasantly pops in to my mind......I like it that way. And so, clearly, those memories are alive.reply

I don't mean I do it permanently but sometimes it's easier not to think about them, For me anyways.reply - taylord... Yosyp 2012/06/21 13:51:09

+1Do you ever think about them and it makes you happy?reply -
When talking about them with family and friend but to sit and think about them when I'm alone it usually makes me sad, not because the memories are bad but it just hurts that they are no longer here.reply - Mandy 2012/06/21 13:24:12I keep them alive+1I have a very vivid memory, and very little control when it comes to not thinking about something or someone. I don't' know how people do that, actually. Memories pop into my head all the time. What other choice do I have but to think about them?reply

they pop in my mind too but at times I push them back, think of something elsereply - Mandy Yosyp 2012/06/21 14:26:35
+1I've never been able to do that. Trying not to think about something has the opposite effect on me. Sometimes I wish I could push memories away. It would save me some pain.reply - Flamingolady 2012/06/21 13:11:09I keep them alive+1Some of the dearest memories I have involve those who have passed, and as long as I keep the thoughts fresh, they are still with me. And yes, sometimes there is an element of lachrymose, but life isn't all fun. In the end, we will all be a memory to those around us, and we might as well make the memories good ones.reply
