Well I have 4 adult children 8 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter. We raised our oldest grandaughter and still have her younger brother here. So yes, my family is big!
I have 8 children (that I know of), 4 step children and 25 grandchildren. I've done my share. Actually it was more fun making them then having them. I love my children and my grandchildren, but if I knew then what it would be like later I would have been better protected. When I was younger we didn't have the same access to contraception as is available today and I was not into abstinence.
I am a 2nd generation only child. My half-sister (Dad remarried) and I are both childfree and are staying that way. So "Family" is simply not part of our worldview.
If more people thought this way, it'd be easier to find a place to park.
I'm not having any more kids, but I would love more grandchildren. I'd also love to eventually have a relationship with a man with a loving family of his own which would blend with mine. That's my definition of a large family--not necessarily have 30 kids of my own.
I come from a big family, my mom has 12 brother and sisters, there was 8 of us, 1 passed away, I have 6, 5 boys and 1 girl (18days old) and I have 7 grandkids.... lol, yeah I know.
Love a big family. We have five. My oldest son would be 16, he passed away 8 years ago. Sons 14 and 12. And our second round, a 5 yr old girl and 3 year old boy.
