yea i have 7 tattoos 3 of the ones i got because of my irish celtic heritage, and the others are i don't want to say meaningless but i got them because i thought they were cool

I'd get a tattoo only because it has a sentimental meaning to me. I'm planning on getting a few.

I got this because I'm a recovering SI (self-injury) addict and I was sick at looking at my scars and being reminded of the painful past. Rainbows, stars and the moon all make me very happy... so, I got a tattoo of those to promise myself a happier future over a painful past.


I have one more that I need to get fixed, you can kind of see it on the first picture, on the back of my neck. It's a Libra sign, gotten for obvious reasons (if it's not obvious to you: I'm a Libra... shocking, I know), but it's a little crooked.

I wouldn't say I don't like em exactly. I've just never seen one that I would want to be stuck with for the rest of my life. I have thought about possibly getting a question mark on the back of my head, or possibly finger holes like on a bowling ball on the side of my head. However, neither is on my to do list anytime soon. Another I've thought of perhaps somewhere on my arm is my clan crest which looks like this.

I don't think folks really look ahead down through the years to figure out how they will look when they are past that half-century mark ... (shudder) ..

One should get a tattoo not based off looks, but meaning.

Even so (based on meaning) .. you really need to consider your future .. for the INK is permanent .. it is difficult to remove (and very painful .. much more painful than getting it in the first place) ..
Seriously .. Folks really do need to do a LOT of thinking here .. there's so much of life to happen .. and things change (that meaning today .. may end up being an embarassment in the future -- I know too many who are now trying to get rid of tattoos that they thought had meaning back then .. but nowadays .. looks just foolish and is a problem in their lives).

Mm... I agree with that. I know I'm always going to love my tattoos, even if I come to dislike the designs. What they mean is too important to me...

I don't like them because they are permanent. What happens when you change your mind? Plus, they look a little trashy to me.
