Do you have a big pain in the neck? You might want to blame your texting plan. A Florida doctor told The New York Daily News he coined the phrase "text neck" after a teen came in with frequent headaches, neck pain and shoulder pain -- and was curled up in the corner, texting away.

And believe it or not, there is now a Text Neck Institute, which the doctor, Dean Fishman, opened after seeing teenagers with the condition.
So how do you know if you have text neck? Text neck is actually another name for forward head posture, according to the News. To avoid the condition, Fishman advises changing your neck and hand position when texting, holding your head up straight and your phone at about a 90-degree angle.
According to The Telegraph, text neck can eventually cause arthritic damage. But wait -- there's an app for that. Fishman has developed an Android app that helps texters know if they're putting themselves at risk. "Nobody realized how severe it was until I put the name 'text neck' on it," he told the News.
Problem is, we think we might have text neck -- and we don't even text that much. Is there such a thing as computer neck?
