Do you have problems putting your thoughts into words?

You!

I don't know what's wrong with me. I have so many, in my opinion, great things to say, thoughts and ideas, I just can never explain it or even begin to put my thoughts into words. I don't know why, I know what I want to say, I just.... Can't. V_V it makes me feel so stupid.

Yes ..because I hate to be misunderstood. So I take a long time to find the right words. So it is super easy for women to confuse me, when they switch the words around to make it like I said something else. You know what I mean guys?

I hate when other people reply to themselves...but I had to say 666_Maggots~PassionForGlory BN-1 ...I do know what you mean.....I sound stupid sometimes myself. No worries..the words will come for those things. They will.

Apparently I can put my thoughts into written word beautifully according several English teachers I had. On the other hand, when I try putting my thoughts into the spoken word it usually ends up a jumbled mess that sounds completely random to most people.

As you write more you will become more comfortable with, and more adept at, conveying your thoughts. As with anything - practice.

Yup. Usually only in front of people I don't feel comfortable with, though. :3 It's like, I get tongue-tied or something. ._. I think it's just 'cause I have major social anxiety, though.

It's very common. I am a better writer than speaker because when I speak I speak slow in order to get the right words across. It's most likely the opposite. Because you are so smart you leave yourself plenty of options as to what you want to say and how to say it. The problem comes in choosing which one. Think of it on the bright side, you never have to worry about sticking your foot in your mouth!

No, but I'm not saying I don't take time when posting some lengthy answers here. I usually edit as I go, or I will see something I need to change, sometimes after the fact.

I was wondering, "Maggots" - have you tried writing in a Journal? It may be helpful, since you say, you do have thoughts that need expressing. You can just use an inexpensive spiral notebook and a pen that flows nicely (if you like writing by hand). Sometimes I may doodle, when illustrating a point, you can just let your thoughts emerge, which are yours unless you want to share.

Just remember, nobody is perfect and everyone has their own talents or abilities.

Just a suggestion. Why not try keeping a Journal, where you write down the stuff that's going round in your head? I find it helpful.

Sometimes. I don't think you're dumb. Some of us don't seem to think so much in words but images. Speaking or writing is then an act of translating from an internal language into English.

I find that I write my thoughts better than verbalizing them. It's like my mind moves quicker than my tongue.

It's a result of my social anxiety at times, and I can't speak properly/stutter and such when I'm trying to express myself. A lot of times I'll confuse words that sound similar. It's really annoying.

An effective way to communicate a point is to phrase a question yourself and then answer it. It cuts to the chase. People pay attention more to questions that statements. Try doing that. Hope it works.

I'm great with words, which is why i wanted to be a writer for so long, but I'm not so good with public speaking.
