The whole selfishness thing when I was in my early 20s. I missed alot of weddings and things like that during that time that now I wish I had been there for as I realize I hurt the people that I ignored at the time now. Can't take it back, but I regret being so selfish back then.

Several. 1) that I was born the wrong gender, which ruined all the other plans I had; 2) that I didn't get the opportunity to pursue the profession I really wanted. 3) when I tried to just live the hand I was dealt I still didn't manage to find much in the way of acceptance. And the list goes on.

My one regret is i waited to long to go see my V.A. doctor! I had this pain behind my knee cap in the right leg, when i started to go see her,the pain went away! 6 months later,it cost me my right leg, they cut it off, above the knee! I still hate that decision i made!

No. I don't want to live a life of regrets, so I act on what I want in life.

It's a battle isn't it? Several of us regret dieting and then gaining it back so you're not alone on that one. BTW, I LOVE your avatar! Love Rowan Atkinson!

Thank you! I worked SO hard to lose the weight. i was then terminated from my JOB because they accused me of being on meth. I was not allowed to defend myself. I got depressed, stopped exercising, and there I went back from size 14 to size blob.

There's always today to start again :-) Have you ever watched that show "The Biggest Loser"? It's new season starts next Tuesday, the 15th and we don't miss it! It's really inspirational. You really got a bum rap on the job though! I wouldn't want to work for the jerks anyway if they just thought the worst of me because they were probably jeolous or something..who knows, but jerks nonetheless! Anyway, hang in there, as I do and so many others who fight the battle of the bulge everyday. The bright side is that at least bathing suit weather is over ;-)

Yes, forgiving my parents in my twenties and not my forties. I waited too long with my spiritual knowledge of forgiving. I had that spirit inside me, but, it was stubborn and had pride. I missed all the family's gathering, my 8 sister's and brothers closeness- yes- I regret that part of my life of pride. It was over 30 years and people are strangers now -it is not the same. You don't know your mother or your father anymore- you just have memories of youth. That is why I sound like an old broken down record about values. Family values are so important to raise normal children and today they are so many astrayed. Tattoes in their noses-their lips- their tongue- pink hair- baggy pants- they all are looking for that lost attention- I see it---I was one of them and it just takes love to bring them back, don't you think, Geezertalk? Only words can mend a broken heart and feeling remorse is the first "step" to healing, right?

Only G-d knows why people like me ramble.................

Ive done stuff that i kno i shouldnt have done but i dont regret it because that event is what has helped make me who i am today, and if it were done different i would not be the same.

    Two, actually.
One thing I did in my past (only known to God) and one thing that continues to haunt me to this day.
You can "give it to God" but Satan reminds you (and me) daily of our mistakes and sins. I believe everyone has a haunting memory of something; they definitely have their share of secrets!

Did you mean past regret or a regret that I did not do something? My "did" regret is "I do"; my "did not" regret is "I don't". :-/

Well, I guess the two are, oddly enough, intertwined. My hope with the question was to inspire a little reflection on the part of all of us ... You raise an extremely interesting point, way of looking at it!
