It's darn good insurance and it should be for what I pay for it. It's going up $300 in the New Year..."thanks Obama!"... Thankfully, b/c I work at a hospital, whatever the insurance doesn't pay, the hospital will write off if I use them. That has saved me a lot of money this year, but I'm still paying on last years medical bills.

Through my employer, an excellent one, I must add. Don't know what will happen when Obamacare gets funded and becomes law (hope it'll never happen) whether I would get taxed for having a "Cadillac" insurance (that I help pay part of the premium since it is not free).

Can not afford it. Too old, too many chronic and/or preexisting conditions, and almost literally penniless, with next to no hope of anything changing for the better. :):

I am VERY blessed that the company my partner works for recognizes domestic partners. She has me on her policy for health, dental and vision coverage. I get the same benefits as anyone else in her company. Since I have MANY physical problems and require regular surgeries and meds, we are truly blessed that I have coverage.

I've been insured about 45 years. I felt that health insurance was as important as having a phone and it was high on my priority list. Of course I would love to have the money that I spent on insurance!! But that's OK. At least YOU didn't have to pay for my healthcare and likewise, I don't want to pay for yours!

Sorry, but if you are on Disability you should have Medicare...I was disabled before 60, and got Medicare. I also accidentally gave you a thumbs-up. I didn't mean to do that for
    . A. Diability, and B. No insurance

we will see if it is still around when I need it. I would rather save it for my kids if they need it if that was a real option

HMM, that's odd. I am 71 6 years older then you and I am not on Medicare...Been with BC/BS for over 30 years...and they pay for everything...and I probably make less on my social security then you do.

I'm sorry, but I don't recall what BC/BS is. I get $644 of my own after the Medicare and Sterling policy payments. I hope you don't get less. You probably have to sign up for it. Because I had to go on Disability, Medicare was part of the 'package.'

And Yes I guess I go get a little more then you $647 per month and the Mrs receives $281 and my BC/BS is $197 per month for the both of us. Of course my deductable is $500.
Now I have been on Disability since 1989 and the Mrs since 1990. I am allowed to make up to 700 per month, but that is because at the time of my disability I was able to plea my own case to the Social Security Judge because of my legal training, and was able to continue on with my profession till I reached retirement age.
Maybe it is because of people like you I worked so hard because it is people on SSI and SS Disability that are getting hurt the most.
With your income you should be allowed Food Stamps and Medicaid and if you are not getting them I suggest you contact your local Job and Family Serivces to see about getting them.
I personally make enough that I don't need that stuff because there are others like you out there that need it more.

I have $328 in widows benefits, and a pension of $389. I was only saying what My disability is. No I get a whopping $15 food stamps. LOL I worked 2 - 3 jobs at a time, but some did not pay Social Secuity. I started working at 18, 19 for Social Security. I had to quit working the end of 1997, and got Social Security Disability in 2000. I was working 3 or 4 jobs in 1997. I don't remember now. I remember I was photographer, reporter for two newspapers, and two regional magazines, and I was a care-giver for two people, and Marketer for a live theatre. Seems like I was doing something else in the community, but I cannot recall now.
