Just bought one that counts the change for me.
It came out $42.75 and I started saving not that long ago. I suggest everyone save their change and then cash it.
I put all of my change,
in a 5 gallon water jug!
I had over $900. last year @ CHRISTMAS!
I divided it between 'SHOP W/A COP',
THE HOME SHELTER!
NEVER 'MISSED A DIME OF IT'!
I have several.. tequila bottles make great change jars..lol I have one that only dimes fit through the top so its my dime jar.. then I have another that all coins fit in and another that sits by the washer and dryer, its an actual piggy bank. Any money that gets left in the washer or laying around the house for more than a few days gets fed to the pig. It all adds up!!
Yep a 5 gallon water bottle. Actually 3 of them. Nickles, dimes and quarters. The Nickle one is about 1/2 full. The Dime one about 2//3's full and the Quarter one about 1/4 full.
Total amount of money in them.when they are full is about $10,000.
so so so worth it! I don't make/spend a lot of money so it takes a while to save up a significant amount, but every 4 months or so I wind up with somewhere around 100 bucks!
Just for quarters. After 1.5 years, I was able pay for a $400 digital camera. It pays to save. As Ben Franklin said, " A penny saved, is a penny earned."
Yeah, I have had quite a success in keeping my change . . . More than $1,000 I know . . . But probably not $2,000 yet . . . But still, close to it . . . We have an Electronic Roller (Actually Battery-Operated) and lots of Paper Rollers; and sometimes my wife and I spend an hour or so just Rolling Coins for Bank Deposits . . . I had so many before that I could hardly carry them in my leather bag . . . Mostly Quarters . . . We would Fill Out the Deposit Slip @ Wells Fargo Bank . . . I recall one Deposit being over $600 . . . But since that time, I have had several more that were in the neighborhood of $100 . . . One Roll of Quarters is $40 . . . I always try to spend my Pennies at the Checkout to make "even silver" .. . For instance, if my Cash Register Receipt is posting $18.84 then I will hand the girl; a Twenty-Dollar Bill and 4-cents. That way I will get One-Dollar and 20-cents back.
My bank has one of those machines where you just dump the change and it issues a receipt you can deposit or take to the teller for cash. I kinda/sorta enjoy watching it work.
THAT one at Safeway, and some other Stores, admit that it's not accurate . . . And it's specially built to "Count at their own advantage" . . . The thing about it is everyone says that they don't mind . . . As long as they do what they do . . . http://voices.yahoo.com/chang... . . . The Question is "How Much of a Commission Does The CoinStar take?" . . . Hmmmm? .. . . As much as 8-9 percent . . . Thus, a thousand bucks; they will keep approximately 90-bucks. Remember now that there are a lot of people who will say; "So, let 'em keep it." Will $90 buy a Turkey for Thanksgiving? . . . Hmmmmm . . . Probably.
After the 3rd lesson, I have a quarter jar for my dog classes. Every time a student gives their dog a 2nd command or a command they cannot enforce, they have to march up and deposit a quarter. If the class is bright, I pocket the 75 cents. If they take a bit longer, I use the money to buy refreshments for the graduation party.
i have always had a change jar...
only now mine is the tip jar from a job a while back.
Now my kids can't "borrow" all my quarters when they want something!!!

I use it to save extra for gifts. This year, I have $547. 71 to spend. I'm gonna go nuts on Amazon!
I like technology that's fun.
No account...no flashy thingy.
