Do You Hate Trying on Bathing Suits?

It's that time of year again! Memorial Day weekend is only a month away, which means that you probably could use a new bathing suit. But while an excuse to go shopping sounds like fun, for most women, it's really not. Australian researchers have confirmed what most women already know: Trying on swimsuits can make women feel badly about themselves -- and just thinking about it can put them in a bad mood, ABC News Radio reports.

Trying on a bathing suit makes women feel like they are being seen as objects, which can lead to "always worrying about how you look, shame about the body, and [it] is linked to eating disorders and depression," according to Flinders University psychologist Marika Tiggemann.

And doing it in a store makes it even more unpleasant, thanks to the "mirrors, bright lighting, and the virtual demand that women engage in close evaluation of their body in evaluating how the clothes appear and fit." Let's face it: Unless you're Gisele Bundchen, shopping for a swimsuit isn't that much fun. But we're still glad summer's almost here. How about you?

    I like wearing bathing suits and buying new bathing suits, but I hate trying them on at the store and it is because of the lighting and mirrors.

    For one, you don't know what kinda disease someone had that tried it on before you... and two, I cannot ever find a bathing suit that fits my top half right. ><

    I love bathing suits! I love collecting them, showing them off, and matching them. I suppose someone could say I'm addicted to buying them. With that said, I hate how they try and sell individual pieces for the price of a limb and/or your newborn baby. It's like...you jerkoffs know I need the top and bottom so why won't you just have a final, AFFORDABLE price... Also it sucks if you're proportions aren't perfect and one part of the two piece fits while the other fails at life. :/ sigh!

    Yes I really really do.Thats the worst part of summer for me.Going swiming because i can not swim.I just walk around the pool.And having to wear a bathing suit. I do not look good in any bathing suit.Im really to chubby. I would never even think to wear a two piece bathing suit.

    I never try one on in the store. I've been the same size for years so i pretty much know if the bikini is gonna work for me. I always always wash before wearing!!!!
