Nothing to be awkward about. Simply look them in the eye and sincerely say, "Thank you."

I remember once in 7th grade a girl told me I had dressed nicely. I didn't know what to say so I said, "I know!" She was furious and I was mortified. Luckily a teacher heard the exchange and taught me the proper way to accept a compliment.

lol i just have a problem talking to people face to face. I'm a rather socially awkward person, I hate making eye contact and try to avoid it at all costs :P I'm strange like that :D
