im afraid that they'll use the money for the wrong cause (booze, drugs). plus in my area many people pose as homeless just to get money from others. they really aren't homeless at all most of them.

Not always but frequently. If they really look down and out, absolutely. I am doing OK so why not share with those that have little or no means. It makes me feel good, it helps the person out. I especially prefer when no one is watching.

Germany has Hartz IV, they give them money. And it is obvious in my little town where norm. everybody knows everyone that if someone is begging on the streets, he or she must be from another town :3 (to cheat) <- they do it alot saw this beggar change to normal citzen in a public restroom

i'll give them a buck and i drive a farm work truck, if they ask me for a job then i'll give them 5 bucks. i've been on the poor side of life now i'm in a position to help others.

Yes sometimes when I have the money because I have lost everything because of and illness. But I am better now. And I always remember that that could be me with an unforeseen catastrophe.

Years ago when I had a job in London' we were given 37pence worth of what were called luncheon vouchers, each day. These were accepted by virtually all cafes and restaurants. Being for such an odd amount they tended to be pocketed until a fair few had accumulated. I used to offer these to beggars, mostly they were inordinately grateful, rarely they threw them back at me knowing the were no good for alcohol or drugs.

here in utah there are not too many real homeless people begging i gave 20 buck to this guy who had a sign that said ( need money for beer ) cause he was honest i also gave him a Budweiser and the look on his face turned from miserable to so happy in less time than you can say right on and i aint seen him since so i figure my kindness got him by till he got a job lol

Not to all of them, but when I see someone on the street that I get a chill from, I know that is someone who is in need. It happens a lot and I give what I can. I saw a woman in her 70s on the side of the road and pulled over and she said she was waiting for the bus, I talked to her a while. Then when the bus came I handed her 20.00. She looked at me with a tear in her eye and said how did you know I was in need? I said I just wanted to bless her as God has blessed me. I had no money left but I know she needed it more than me.

Yes I still do but not cash. I know there are scammers out there so I quit handing out cash and started handing out bottled water and granola bars... so long as they do not act like jerks and or stick their noses up at it.

I give to the various agencies in my city that support them. As I see far too many "homeless people" that have nice jackets, headphones/Ipods, and never seem to be out of cigarettes.

People like that I ask them for change before they ask me, that or I've seen people offer them a job to which they almost never accept.

Exactly. There was a guy here that every Christmas he was at the same corner. The law finally investigated him and found out he made at least 40 grand that month every year. They stopped him from pandering. People would offer him a job and he would say no. Some people took him food. He said he lived well the rest of the year.

ya that always made me say no too cause there was a guy who had a real leather jacket propping the sign up while polishing it and i saw in his bag he had a few jars with change and one jar full of ones and then it fell over and a laptop fell out and he stopped polishing his jacket to try and hide his laptop lol at that moment i walked up and asked dont ya think its too late for that buddy? and he said you saw that????????? and i said i saw the jars too so i will hang here and tell people about them and if i see you again i will call the cops he packed up and ran quicker than jhon elway lol

Yes, we should all help them because not everybody have equal opportunities to go to school and even have the necessary things so it is not fair to them. If we share the wealth of this world between all of us we can all drive Audi and be super healthy because we will be able to eat more fruit from the trees…. that God created for us. It was not meant to be for sale. And what if that person begging for money is Jesus? He promised to come back, didn’t he? Maybe he is checking how human we are, or how much we are growing as a society in every way. Are we going to be remembered as a great society? Or what?
