I am proud to me different. I don't want to be a sheep. Like the saying goes: Be yourself; everyone else is taken. Hence, many people don't like me for taking the road less travelled. I don't go with the flow.

The high road is always the most narrow, most bumpy and definitely less traveled.... if I find myself with a smooth ride with lots of people agreeing with me... I know I've gone off track.

I don't even know if the road I follow could be called a "road", it's so untraveled it's more like an unpaved pass on a mountain, not even a dirt road, just a flat grass covered path through the woods. Let's put it this way, I google specific terms related to my preferences and ideas, and sometimes I get no results or less than 20 results on the entire internet when I do.

Absolutely! If I can go an easier or less painful way than the norm I'll do it. I always have tried to make it a little better. Sometimes it works out well and other times, not so well. I've noticed those who like the "conventional" ways are never too happy with me, lol! I've always been independent and creative and those attributes usually lead to the road less traveled in my opinion.

Two possibilities:

1. Most people think they're more unique than they are just because they don't fit a stereotype 100%.
2. The little corner of the internet is full of individuals who don't follow trends.

Yes and no.

I'm an artistic, autistic, rather autonomous autodicact. I'm highly creative and innovative. I'd rather make my own patterns and other designs than use commercial ones. I'm wired a bit differently and it'd be quite stupid of me to pretend I'm something I'm not. I can't succeed in that; I can only succeed at being me, quirks and all. I can't help being somewhat eccentric and...different.

On the other hand, I'm a stay-at-home grandmother who watches her grandchildren so her kids can go to college and work. That's my very ordinary side.

I envy you looking after your grandchildren, we hope to see ours for one of the days at half term. Being nearly teens the older ones are so busy, we do not see them much and my step daughter is a stay at home mum.

I guess the grass is always a little greener on the other side of the fence. I watch grandchildren much of the time from a little after I wake until a little before I go to bed. In about a month, I'll have had three grandchildren born within the last 9 months. The older two are five and ten. The ten-year-old is profoundly autistic and still nonverbal. Watching him is...intense.

I'm struggling to find time for art because I'm usually catching up on house work and errands.

I guess it is hard work, but so worth while, I used to be a child minder in the days u did not do it for money. Did not get much, but one summer holiday I had 7 kids to watch. We went out every day to the park me my friend 2 dogs 7 kids, I loved every day, did not get a lot of housework done. There is always another day for that.

A bit of a stretch really to say I follow all that he lays out in the book, but I do try on my rare better days:) I consider the book to be a gift to humanity though and have given away many, many copies.
I also really love his follow-up 'further along the road less travelled'. His book 'people of the lie' is also a very worthwhile read.
