This can call upon a Trickster or Matangi element -- turning the world upside down to make people think better, re-evaluate and clean out the cobwebs between their ears regarding ideologies, hierarchies, structures and conventions of society. Matangi is a relatively obscure Hindu goddess. You cannot maintain a functional society or ideology without shaking up the status quo, every now and then. She's a goddess of scraps and of pollution, a now and then Goddess. Maatangi/Matangi (I've seen it spelled both ways) is a Devi (aspect of Hingu Mother divine) and a goddess of music, art, poetry and learning. She is an outcast, bohemian or unorthodox creative aspect, in polarity to how things "are." She is a patron of inner thought and immanent (internal) divine meant to act in tandem with the transcendent (external). When played in a festival, the 'maatangi' dances wildly, swears, drinks, spits on spectators, pushes people with her butt and takes delight in abusing upper class/caste members. Because there an inverse relationship to PCness and creativity, during festival, Maatangi introduces a inversion of the usual social codes and rules takes place. The 'maatangi' personifies social topsy-turvy.
Aside, Aside: Imagine if the Occupy movement effectively employed the use of a trickster or Matangi character..."

I'm actually pretty nontheistic (not the same an atheistic or agnostic) most of the time, choosing to focus on correct practices including ethics (like reciprocity...reciprocal ethics), equality, accountability, hospitality, reality checks, logic and much more.
In this way, my focus is mostly on the aspect of the divine I have the most control of, my own divine nature, and it is at once immanent (internal) and yet connected to transcendent (external) aspects of the divine which I don't only define in terms of deity. More on that in the following link (it's from my blog).

This is what "I am God" means to me -- to be accountable, to try to make the world a better place, to ask "why not excellence?" (This is in sharp contrast to what most people think the phrase might mean. They often describe it as delusional, amoral, and damming in the literal sense.)
But I am above all rules... "No" means "autodeist," because I said so...
