I've been trying to improve my grammar, yet, to my prevail, it is exceedingly difficult for me just like in school. Ever had this difficulty as well? How did you get past it? I feel as if my memory is what hinders me from learning certain subjects...

Take care, just a rant.

As 'Sgt Major B' says: Read read read. You'll increasingly find that incorrect grammar will jump out at you.

Read, read, read, especially the classics. Correspond in long-hand, not with the keyboard. Grab a simple, self-paced text for bonehead English 101 and work through it.

And if all that isn't sufficient, prepare correspondence for an Army Brigadier General that taught English before she was commissioned!!

I've always been pretty good with grammar, but... I discover, on occasion, that I've been wrong about various things. It's not always intuitive.

Generally, the more you read, the easier it will come to you.

Hmm, I suppose I've never read much as a child, that's why I probably have difficulty obeying rules which are commonplace :P

How awesome that you are trying to improve your grammar.....it can be difficult for some..
My suggestion is to find a tutor...call your local high school or college to see if any English teachers do tutoring...They are the most qualified to help you discover your "block" and help you further....Good Luck to you!!

My problem is that I don't have a good memory and don't follow rules very well. I, also, don't understand grammar rules which don't make sense to me...

I guess I've never read enough as a child to get it intuitively, wouldn't necessarily call it a block though. Just need someone to review my writing and show me my trouble areas....

    Take care, :)

A tutor can help you with these things...or someone who teaches adult education...sometimes these programs are offered thru local libraries....and you can learn memory retention as well...good luck to you...

Read more, hand write letters; all of which boil down to "practice".
